not too many catbacks to choose from now

hahn has a 3 incher, but the stocker flows very well to begin with.

I believe magnaflow has a part number for the 08/09 ss cobalt on their website, but not sure if you can buy it yet.

I have the synapse DP and am getting a prototype SLP installed end of the month. The aftermarket is always slow to let parts trickle out, but Hahn has a nice system out for the time being.

I say wait for a little while until you have more options. That way you won't feel like a goof if you get something now and something you like more comes out.

Personally, I love the stock exhaust. There is no noise at cruising speed and has a decent sound when you really get on it...and it is not very restrictive for a stock exhaust...

not restrictive my ass you dont think 2 cats is restrictive??? your smoking somethhing and our mufflers are huge the only reason our cars sound good and it would free up so much hp with a strait pipe and you would get such a faster spool time

My Wife is planning on getting me a custom exhaust setup done here soon. She called the muffler shop in town, the only one I've ever been to in all of my cars and they have 3" piping and it would cost something like $125 or some **** plus taxes. If the shop did it, would it be a smart idea to run straight pipe from the turbo back without a muffler or cats? Just dont wanna have a car that sounds like **** and drops power.

I have a Hahn 3" polished SS exhaust. The resonator and muffler are full ID of pipe. The sound from outside is great, but almost stock from the inside. I am really enjoying this car. All I can say is "WOW - well done Chevrolet".

A custom 3" exhaust would save me about $300 or so, so get that clip up so I can see if I wanna pay the extra $ for Hahn.

ITS IN THE PIPING DUDE
3" IS WAY BETTER ON A TURBO,AIR FLOWS MORE FREELY WHICH MEANS MORE HP
ADD A DOWN PIPE AND YOUR SET

Muffler shop exhaust is not going to be any better than stock EXCEPT for muffler choice. The TC comes with 2.5" mandrel bent as is. A press bent 3" pipe is smaller than 2.5" in the bends so it defeats the whole point. I know this because I used to run an exhaust shop. Mandrel bent is the way to go unless you like giving away money, in which case, you can give it to me......lol. I'll put it to good use!!

Just get the DP, you don't need any thing else.
