what I have done & problem I still have.....
latest developments........not good
On the way to work this AM, I had the trans in "I" in comp mode and decided to give it some fuel, pulled real strong without to much boost. When I got in the lot and parked, it started to idle rough, first time it has done that. So it throws some codes.....P0234 & P2177 ( fuel trim system lean at cruise or accel )
The STFT'S READ 29.6 AND. The LTFT' read 33.5 not. good. Cleared the codes, still have rough idle , but if I bring the r's up to 3 grand, it is smooth. Any thoughts on this???? Sounds like. I have multiple problems.

Still have the other issues, but at least the latest one is resolved. Going to put the stock tune back in and make sure, that I get under the car this weekend and check all of the vacuum lines and other connections.
The one thing I did take note of is that when that hose came off, the vacuum gauge only showed a reading of -2.5 or lower at idle, whereas when connected at idle or lifting off the throttle., it goes as high as -21.5
That's a giant vaccume leak. The only reason I know about that BSR thing was because a guy up here went shooting through map sensors with that thing. I would replace both and go get tuned by byt or vince at trifecta
The one in the coldside pipe is the TMAP. The one on the intake manifold is the MAP. The "T" in TMAP stands for temperature, which is your IAT2 reading.
wow........what a morning.......
To say I am happy is an understatement
. The insight and info here has and is great. I would like to thank everyone for their advice, suggestions, and imput with my problems.
Now the GREAT news. On the stock tune the SS runs just fine...... No noise from the turbo, no popping when bringing the r's up, no loss of boost when accelerating, no codes set. Now granted, it doesn't quite have the power of a tune, but doing passing gear WOT, I hit 21 lbs of boost. Now a WOT from a dead stop also netted almost 22 lbs of boost, and that is with the outside temp at 36 degrees. I also have to say that it did pull and even felt stronger than the BSR tune from 60 to 80. I have had that tune since 9000 miles, but it seems like it is filled with gitches. Any thoughts or opinions on that??? Also with the stock tune my LTFT's are at a +10.1
We will see how the ride home goes, can't wait.
Thanks again everyone, I have a big grin this AM.

BSR tuner is OK but seems you have learned that a real CUSTOM tune is the way to go!
I
I sure have learned is right.....to think that tune was causing all of the problems and they seemed to be mounting as time went on, anxious to drive some more and make sure I wasn't dreaming.
Understand what your saying about the GM tune being all over the place. I do feel like I have a new ride, will be looking into a custom tune and thanks for the offer, will keep that in mind.
The trims on that are close to normal. and the GM tune is very uneven i will tell you that. My dyno on the GM tune looked cruddy. Now get with BYT or i can drive down and tune u for trifecta. Or mike nelson can help you out.

the ride home tonight.....
well the SS is doing well, the ride home tonight was uneventful in that no codes or noises or loss of boost were present during the trip home. Of course, dosen't have the power of a tune, but hey, I'll take it for now.

I hear this squealing/ whistling noise when I hit full boost but I can only hear it with my intake on. You can't hear it with the stock airbox on. I'm going to get an evap smoke test done next month. Maybe that's what you should do to.
have been looking over his website......thanks....
???
I can tell you this, that with my stock tune back in, there is no noise or weird sounds coming out of the engine department.......
let me know what that test is about and your results......

latest update.....The Boost is Back!!!!
A lot has gone on since the last time I posted. I ended up changing the spark plugs with NGK #4306 and gaped them @.035 I put the BSR Tune back in and went for a ride, same results, no change, go back to the stock tune and no problems. Ok, so l'm thinking again it is the tune. And btw I sprayed down the MAF while I was at it. So I end up talking to the mechanic at work and explain everything, he agrees to go for a ride this AM, before work. I put the BSR back in and it runs great, I mean no symtoms like I have been having, except it did loose boost twice after heavy acceleration. But then shutting down the engine and restarting, the boost was back each time. So I don't think the tune is the problem. I think it is a number of things that have come together to create the problems I've been having. I feel the wastegate actuator solenoid may be sticking from time to time, since it is a switch, it may be partially defective and on its way out. I always buy gas at the same location and may have gotten bad gas, and although the spark plugs looked great for 71000 miles and the gap on those plugs were all @.033 there probably was a build up of carbon in there, which the new plugs have helped clear out and I got fresh gas this AM also. The mechanic was impressed on how it ran. I was boosting up 22.7 lbs and it was feeling good. I still think I am going to change that solenoid anyway. Can't wait for the ride home tonight. Later.....Tom
I wasn't aware of that, will have to check that out further. On a positive note, I figured out why the rough idle and the reason for that P2177 code, and that is dummy me. When I did the tank bypass the other day, I used whatever vacuum hose I had available and the one clamp was't quite secure enough. And you guessed it, that hose came off and caused the rough idle. Fixed that at work and the ride home was good.

Edit: well I didnt post it in here... but when ever someone barks about lean or rich fuel trims I tell them to check those vac lines.. I wish I came in here and said that
The ride home last night was just fine, the power and boost are there and there to stay....
Well out to the other machine to get some work done.....will report on the ride to and from later. I still want to change out the wastegate actuator solenoid as I mentioned before, because I believe that is the reason why I would lose boost at times.......
