Who makes the best intercoooler?

I am just curious what everyone thinks of the current intercoolers on the market. Pros, cons, and things you think should be in one that aren't.

I bought (and am patiently waiting for), a Hahn Racecraft one.

I budgeted for everything I wanted from Hahn, then haggled with them and got a pretty screaming deal, and I have faith in their stuff.

I say for the price and fitment, I would have to go with Treadstone.

I have a genuine saab myself since it was a good deal. Honestly though, the main con I have against it was the mounting brackets. That, and the fact that I had to chip away at the crash bar slightly to make it fit right. But, I like that it's rated at the right cfm for my goals, and I didn't have to spend an arm and a leg for it.

^^^^ I'm rolling with the same one and don't plan on changing it unless something happens to it.

Yes, but I bought mine off a Cobalt SS/TC owner Some minor modification and its been on and working great over a year now.

The HHR SS owners I know that have owned it said they had no fitment issue, bolt on and go.

mpx - good size, good height off ground, BUT the end tanks may not be the best efficiency and the inlet/outlets are a tad small.

zzp = good but hangs too low

hahn - hangs low and is pretty darn big

treadstone - fitment is ok but needs work, height is almost too high, could be longer instead of height.

Sounds like you guys are trying to invent your own intercooler. Are you guys also gonna develop cat-backs and air intakes too?

x2, fitment and quality looks good. Does not hang too low and can handle the necessary power.

I have purchased and tested [CFM/ Weight/ Design/ Performance/ IAT1&2] all of the FMIC for the Cobalt TC..

CFM: 25PSI @ 90*

The best one to date is the ZZP. It moves more air and PSI drop is at .281 compared to the others avg .319 and for IAT [tested at 90* outside temp @ 65mph] 96* @ the inlet - across to +/- 6-11* drop @ the outlet [87-90*].

MPx
HAHN
Treadstone TR8
Crazysteve
Werks
Smax - IAT 18-22* drop using there Co2 kit

used Xchanger Inc. tool to calculate CFM @25PSI/90* based on product specs.

i bought crazy steves intercooler from GenuineSaab.com dosent ride low and ive been runing it for 2years now. It does the job for me im runing a trifecta tune on 25psi and cools it just fine. Bolts right up to the factory hoses and brackets. Its also only 275. I got to talk to steve the guy that fab it. They work out of springfield MO witch is only an hr away from where i live. just thought i would throw that out on this post

Treadstone for me. I bought the TR10 on a group buy and I couldn't be happier. I had to fiddle with the crash bar some to get everything lined up right but it was no problem. Great intercooler and great price.

When it's time, I'll be going with ZZP. They've pushed their own product far beyond the limits many of us will see with proven results. So I'm quite confident in their product.

If I may be so bold I have noticed a few things. Most hang low and/or have fitment issues. Alot of units aren't using the whole front grill. All of the current units are bar and plate, and with the exception of werks using a garret core (which I believe is made in mexico) all of the other cores/units are made in china/overseas. Correct me if I'm wrong.
