^u dont need none? well in that case, no offense blazin, but i like the sound of a little backpressure. if i was gonna go straight pipe i would get an electric cutout and put a cat and resonator on my other setup

The turbo generally creates enough back pressure on it's own. Basically, it gets power from the exhaust pressure and uses it to force more air and gas back into the engine. A side effect of doing this creates a significant amount of back pressure in the exhaust between the engine and the turbo, which is what actually drives the turbo.

so no it doesnt

i got ya. heard u need a little in turbo cars over S/C cars. im just going based off what i heard and not what i know as fact. i would assume though the exhaust gas would try to take the path of least resistance and it might hinder the turbo a bit if it was just gonna dump on out the other way

im going to get around to fabricating my exhaust very soon....hopefulely by the end of the month it will be done. i just ahve no time right now. 3" catless downpipe with a vibrant muffler and possibly a resonator but ill mach different resonators up when the cars in the air and the piping is there so i can get the best sound quality. im going for a deep tone thats not rediculously loud at idle but is rather loud when you get on it.

No. Backpressure is not good. Creates restriction and excess heat.

nope, think of it this way. the exhaust velocity and heat are driving the turbo, the exhaust has already done its job so you need to dump it as fast as possible...in a turbo application anyway. in a SC/NA application, exhaust scavenging and velocity come into play a lot more so some backpresure is needed.

so do u guys think its more worth it to ddef do a downpipe on the ss tc, and then leave the catback,,,, and jsut def swap the muffler.... what is the siz of the catback piping btw is it pretty shitty ? i know the DP is gonna be one of the most restrictive parts so i'd def do that first i think.. im wondering if its gonna be worth it to actually do the catback piping.

Catless 3" DP and 3" Catback will definately add some power. The best bang for your buck though other than a tune is a good flowing intake. You should see the flow difference from the stock airbox with a drop in to a SRI. 1badblueberrySc gained 4-5 lbs per min after he got rid of his stock intake. He is still on the stock DP, Chargepipes and Catback and he is flowing the same amount of air as my car did last time on the dyno!!!

Honestly, I did not notice any difference between my stock DP and my Hahn DP until I got rid of the cat. The stock cats are actually highflows with a larger core than the aftermarket ones and the stock DP is 3". Catback is 2.5" but it is strait through and flows pretty well.

My downpipe made a difference like no other...!

Trust me, this is what you should do:

order a DP from CIA and go catless(if you can) if not, with a cat sounds wonderful itself...that's what I have.

After that, save for exhaust to match with it...3inch.

Quality is very good. Their DP is made just like Hahn's but a little less money. Catless will make the most difference. Even with my tune and all I did not notice any difference untill I removed my cat. Now she spools up a littlwe harder and pulls a little better up top.

you want the rumble, eh? straight pipe all the way back from the turbo, no mufflers. on the srt4 i believe the turbo acts as the muffler. the 2.4l engine helps a but but a similar sound is not far out of reach.
