Will the K&N SRI do more for me than Airbox Mod?

I'm considering a K&N SRI for engine bay looks as well as maybe a little more performance.

ZZP told me I can expect around 10-14 hp and that's exactly what K&N claims so part of me feels like it's not worth the $300

So my question is; is it worth getting a intake at this point of my modding hobby?

Supposedly an Air Box mod and K&N drop in is all you need, pair that with the ZZP intake tube and I think it would equal out to the same increase in power for 1/3 the cost

If you want more turbo sound, get the intake. At this point it will be sound modification. But you might squeeze alittle more power out. Plus its cheaper than $300. Gotta look around.

With a tune you will get MORE out of the k&n than the airbox mod.

ZZP claimed "nice" whp gains from the complete airbox mod; obviously they were tuned for it (as you appear to be). I say you're good to go unless your trims are way out of whack.
The K&N looks/sounds pretty sweet though

My point is he already had the airbox mod that is all you need, I'd say stick with that

I love mine! Makes the turbo and bpv VERY audible! The sound alone almost makes it worth it JDP motorsports has them for 255 shipped with the cleaning kit! Gotta call them for that price though. 888.308.6007

If you had a stock intake setup id say get the k+n. But since you have the air box mod, drop in and zzp tube i highly doubt you would see any gains in power.

Ive already posted gains from the zzp tube only at 8-9whp at peak and 15whp at 6000rpm.

I only run the ZZP AB mod too, also run a 12.9@112, so I imagine its a good increase in power.

Don't tempt me, I don't wanna be too powerful Honestly, I think I'm gonna go ZZP Tranny first.

and...

I already have an airbox mod, with ZZP Tube and K&N filter, is it really that much louder? My forge and turbo is noticeable now.

Also Vince already tuned me for an airbox mod, filter and tube so there's no issue there either.

If you want to spend money on something you really don't need except for some sound do it by all means. The sound from a SRI is amazing i will not argue that.

if you are getting the SRI you are just paying for a noise maker. (if you have the AB Mod already.)

Also dealerships will have more reason to screw with you. They are blaming air filter oil for damaged engines now. All I have to be before going to the dealer is drop the stock filter in. I don't care about noise. I like being quiet and fast.

My airbox mod sounds just like youtube videos of k&n sri. I'll post a video and compare for sure. I thought it sounded no different

Well this sounds correct because the ZZP intake tube is larger in diameter than stock so it would be louder. I only had the snorkel modified and a K&N filter and there was a difference in sound.

Agreed Vahdyx - I have had a cai and two different short rams including the k&N and the airbox mod k&n drop in and zzp intake tube has better performance/hp than any of them.
