Boost doesn't dictate how much power you're making... airflow does. If you have stock intake/exhaust/cat you'll need to push more psi to make the same power as someone running lower boost with a hiflow cat/intake/catback.
Also i wouldn't bother with an mbc on an lnf, the ecm controls how much boost you'll be running anyway.

What does that have to do with anything? Boost is simply the amount of pressure in the intake manifold and nothing more. I've seen plenty of hptuner logs where people are running 21-22 psi yet only pushing 30lbs/min of airflow, im running less psi yet flowing more air due to a less restrictive setup.
May i suggest some reading material on how turbo's work from Corky Bell.

I was simply stating that with an aftermarket tune, the ecm no longer restricts the boost to keep the power at 260/260.

The tune you have is set for 21.98 lbs exactly as the test car was. If you have the same mods you will see 21.98 lbs. The most boost you can run is 22.5 lbs. Any more and the ECM will slam the throttle shut to bring it back down.

Some ppl are finding that an MBC is necessary when running high boost pressure. apparently our wastegate is pushed open from excessive backpressure and we are out of boost control PW at high boost, so increasing spring preload and an MBC solve these problems. I wonder if 22-23psi is the limit on a full bolton system with the stock turbo/wastegate actuator. But then there's "infiniboost" that seems to have no problems wit the stock hardware.

I wish we knew exactly the duty cycle of our stock boost control solenoid, and how much wastegate preload we can add before creeping to dangerous levels...

This of course assumes your tune will allow the extra airflow or "load"

I'd guess that Vince/Trifecta basically unlocked more code surrounding the duty cycle of the boost control solenoid. Its pretty obvious from his and other posts/logs the car can hold boost to redline reasonably well when in the right hands.

I think even some of the HPT guys have been able to get it up pretty high lately? Although the boost control on HPT seems pretty ambigious from what I've seen in person on the SS/TC.

Maybe infiniboost means exactly what the name implies, the BCS is at 100% (or damn near) and the turbo is basically building as much boost as possible. We'd wire WG shut on DSM's all the time on 16g's and get 32-36psi (on race gas!) usually on a good 3" exhaust. At that point its just a matter of how much air you can move

Yeah, I maintain 21 psi all the way to redline. I just want the opportunity to push a bit more boost.

Isn't that a feature of the overboost protection?

Does HPtunersBETA allow for that to be disabled?

You have PM. I just made one for $26. And I could have made it MUCH cheaper if I had shopped around.

I've made quite a few being broke too, no biggie.

Have always made mine using these instructions: http://www.geocities.com/chmwatson/FAQs/mbc.html

$10-15 bucks will do ya! The only thing I change is a bolt with a wingnut for the locknut.
