ZZP Big Brake Kit

In preparation of the Chicago half mile that the ZZP crew along with Ryan D.(Scythe Snake) and I will be attending on June 21 I figured I have enough go and need some more stopping power. So I ended up getting the 14.5" brake kit from my boys at ZZP. Here are some pics. There huge haha. So I also thought about making this a little reference for others doing the install. I didn't take pics of the removal of the stock stuff. But obviously you start by removing all the stock stuff and even the lines. This kit comes with stainless lines for the front. First I put on the new lines.

Here is a pic of the caliper and the new bracket, and then the SS/SC rotors vs. new.

Notice the bracket says ZZP, but when you go to install the bracket, you have to install it like this. I started out thinking how dumb that was until I put the rotor on, then you realize the ZZP is right, you will be able to see it if under the car.

Then is the rotors and calipers.

And then the final result.

Install is very straight forward, I will have some better pics of the rims and some pics from back a bit later today when I finish it all up.

Are the pads themselves noticeable bigger than stock? It just seems like the caliper isn't all that big vs most calipers on a rotor that size.

I was thinking the same thing, that caliper looks very small for that big of a rotor.

bigger rotor = more leverage for stopping power

The pads do seem bigger. I haven't had bremos in years. but the pad does cover the whole area of the rotor where there is slotted and drilled areas. Also bigger rotor more time in between rotations.

Wow those really fill the wheel out. And I'm pretty sure the calipers are the same as a fifth gen Camaro SS.

By the looks of it they are rear 5th gen camaro calipers.

They are way too tiny to be the front camaro calipers

Pretty sure there of the 5th gen as stated. Don't know what other car in the GM line runs them except a vette but there's say corvette usually.

There's my experience with them. Love em.
Had em on my LSJ last year, swapped onto my LNF I picked up just recently. They are off the rear of the newer camaros, calipers are about identical size and pads will drop into LNF brembos. I've had them to the track and they are a nice upgrade over LSJ and LNF brakes.

In the process of mounting the factory LNF brembos on the rear

Can you use the TC brembos instead of the Camaros?? I want to run STI 2 pistons in the back

They mount up and appear like the LNF brembos would work fine on brackets, didn't try them though

If I could use my calipers that would be sweet all I'd need is the rotors and brackets I've already got a new set of pads
