Exclamation 06 LSJ starting issues!!

Hey everyone I've been having some issues with my 06 cobalt SS supercharged. alright so I'm going to describe the issue as best I can. There are times when I will get in my car and it will start up with absolutely no problems at all. Then there are other times when I will get in the car and try to start her and she will try and start but bog out and die, She will sputter and then die. here are the things that I have tried to change on her to get her back up and running properly. I have changed the evap purge solenoid, the supercharger bypass valve, the fuel filter, fuel pump relay, map sensor, changed the spark plugs, camshaft positioning sensor (the reason for that one is because the CEL came on telling me it was faulty, I went to the dealership and they replaced it) once this issue happens I usually wait about 5 minutes or so and like magic I will try and start her again and she will start up like nothing was wrong. WTF!! can someone please help me I'd rather not take her into the dealership as they always try to kill you on parts and labor charges. I'm not a mechanic but I know my way around the car fairly well and am some what knowledgeable. one thing to note. I used to just put regular in it and had no problems but now I've been putting 93 octane and now it seems to be an issue, but I doubt it is because of that. any help will be most appreciated!! thanks guys and have a great day!

Did the issue start right after you started putting premium in it?
Also, like Yellow said.. it could be a bad maf. If this issue has been happening for quite some time and it rains there every so often, it could have ruined your maf. A new maf is only like $40 and a very easy fix.

& what carstedt said is wrong .. It will not continue messing up, it will relearn everything fairly quick.

I was thinking maybe it had something to do with the higher octane I was stationed in WA and now I'm stationed in NJ I drove the car from there to here and had no issues at all. But yes it all started after I started putting 93 octane in it. do you think that might be what it is?? I was thinking possible O2 sensors or possibly the CAT, what do you think???

I dont think its the MAF because there are times where it will just start up perfectly fine with no issues at all. I would think that if the MAF is going out it would just go out and not work at all

O2 sensors could definitely be a problem.

An arm and a leg, but yet it would take 20 minutes max.

Pretty sure there's quite a few Balt owners out there near NY & NJ. They could hook up HPTuners and give you a reflash, and log the car and tell you what the issue is.

thats what I was thinking going from 87 to 93 could mess up the tables and also the O2 sensors... hmmm why do things have to be difficult LOL

yup I hate the fact that the easy things seem to cost the most!! and they are always the things that NEED to be done lol

Easiest way to tell if your cat is going bad, is if your making more boost than normal. However, a cat wouldn't cause the issues you're having.

To scan it and see if the o2's are messed up, or the maf, or you could see where the issues are. Wise guy

u can scan for an 02 on a normal scanner..or u can pull it out and check it, maf go ahead pull it and jus "dry" it off even if it hasnt been raining...both take minimal time

Or hook up HPT and not even have to pop the hood.. and see if you have other issues...

I just ordered both O2 sensors not gonna half ass anything lol that's why I got both. I'm hoping thats the issue with it, if not I guess the next step will be a re flash and see if maybe the tables are off??? and if that doesnt work I'll just give it to the dealership and let them find out what the issue is and then charge me massive amounts of money to fix it hahaha!

BUT!! if anyone else has any other possibilities PLEASE keep them coming, I'm open to all legit suggestions Thanks!
