06 ss/sc build

hey everyone!
this is going to be my build thread of an orange 06 ss/sc with the g85 package. I am trying for 350whp. with the eaton. though the car is only lightly modded I have big plains.
here is what I got to date.

Fujita Cold Air intake
3.0in pulley
shorter belt
42.5lb injectors
Zzp tune. with rev limiter at 7200.
17% window tent all around.

I run royal purple oil and trans fluid. The car feels smoother with the fluid swap, would def. recom.

The car stock did 14.1 at 100. It also put down 224whp and 196wtq. stock. within the next couple of weeks I will be installing a Exedy Stage 3 (Hyper-Single) Clutch Kit along with a few other items.

Here is some pics of the car stock with dyno sheet and time slips.
The si is my dad. track times and dyno numbers are when car was stock.
updated pics will be up soon

So how much power did you get from your 17% window "tent" ?

you won't touch 350 without nitrous on the stock blower. Hell you will have a tough time with 300

yea man you might want to look into getting a tvs or going turbo, if thats not something in your plans.. get some nitrous, build that motor (higher compresson might work out.. just not to high) and let it roll!

I think it can be done without nitrous. the big problem is heat. so I am going to dyno it again and see
what my current mods did. and go from there.

300whp can be done with out nitrous.. but 350 i dont see happing.. heat is huge but even if you get that elminated i dont think with the heaton it can be done.. prove me wrong plz lol i would love to see it really would.. but water meth, dual pass, h/e and ported blower will kill most of that heat but theres alot more to be done to get to 350whp..

io think the money you will spend to get to 350whp on the stock blower can be spent on a nice turbo system that will give you 400+ whp IMO

even a tvs for that matter... $2500 you can get one of those for

I may do a blower swap. but I feel with a front mount, dual pass, ported blower with the royal purple purlpe ice coolant mix will realy drop the heat down. what about even a nitrous halo? with the stock blower or a diff. one I am still doing all these mods. aside from cooling. when I go to a stage 2/3 cam setup I think I am also going to bump the compression up to 10:1 I am also going to have 2 maps. one on race gas and another on pump gas for the street. stay tune for more mods

some updated pics. the veh. also has lexus rx400 hids (6k bulbs)

dont mind dirty engine bay, will be clean soon.

good times... lol.

I'm doing all the supporting mods this summer: Rebel 3" CAI + LS4 TB, Header + Downpipe + Exhaust (Still haven't made up my mind yet on what kind), just bought the dual pass intercooler + Option B, Cobra HEX coming in (may sell it PM me), GM Stage 2 sitting on a shelf (2.9 pulley coming in).

I've pretty much bought and paid for everything with the exception of the exhaust and TB, I'm having it custom tuned at speed engineering in decatur, TN probably in late May. Did I mention I've only had the car for 2 weeks? Haha. This doesn't include the audio stuff I've bought.

Next year I'm buying a better blower and clutch and changing out the master cylinder for a corvette one. The stock Eaton has a lot of limitations that you just can't work around. I don't want to carry around extra stuff for meth injection and I don't want to use nitrous. I do have 2 nitrous kits at the house though, which is funny.

The Harrop seems to look really good as far as aftermarket blower. You can only push OEM so far and somethings gotta give. You don't want it to be #4

not on a stock blower man. if you do get it it wont be a "clean" 350/ as in i bet your hp drops a ton after a single dyno pass due to heat soak. heat will be your main problem as you know. however with a return fuel system,at least 60 lb injectors. small enough pully, a ported head, meth injection, front mount. a mean tune. cams , pistons and all the suporting mods. it is possible i belive... just not for long. oh, and trany prolly wont like you much.

I will be doing all supporting mods. but I feel with meth/heat exchanger/nx intercooler sprayer with royal purple coolant mix. I can keep the temps down. I always have ice on the blower between runs with are about 45min. I may do a blower swap but i can up the compression to 10:1 with rods for less. All I need is money...lol but I will hit 350whp. on a blower. will update when my clutch and exhaust setup comes in.

side note: guys are doing a maf mod on the gtos to trick the iat... is anyone doing this mod? my dad just bought a blue 6.0 gto with this mod. on it. will have pics soon.

exhaust came in and I installed it. will have pics. car gained some nice horsepower and sounds good just driving but when you get into it, it gets loud. my clutch setup also came in will have pics of that install along with new royal purple trans fluid, dot 4 brake fluid, throw out bearing and slave cylinder. I have also ordered my hp tuners setup. pics to come.

I was planning on having pics of the install but I found my self just getting the car done rather than doing both pics and the install. anyway I did the centerforce setup with the throwout bearing/slave and some 75w-90 trans fluid. clutch feels soft and now its hard as hell to shift. so I am going to bleed the clutch some more.... will have some pics soon.

Nice. I dyno'd at Slowmotion last spring. Put down 263/238 with Intake, Stg2, 2.8, and full catless exhaust. I'm hoping to go back for their next dyno day to see what kind of gains my Wicked Tune gave me (I'm guessing 10 to 15whp. I can't feel a gain... but it CERTAINLY shows in my races!).

Are you interested in Cams? I have a set for sale, the JBP Stg2 Cams w/ Valve Springs. They're a $1000 value and I'm only asking $550. They were never installed. They will certainly help you in your quest for high horsepower! PM me if you are interested.
