Angry 07 SS/SC owners! GM let us down again!!

Hello all. I installed my Stage 2 kit yesterday afternoon and waited this morning to call GM and get my VCI number. Everything went all fine and dandy until I tried to program my PCM with that new program. It went to about 77% complete then says "program FAILED!!!" I retried about 6 times before I called them back to see what the problem was.

Techline first tells me that there is problems with my wiring and that because of that, trying to program my PCM ruined it and that I will probably have to purchase a new PCM. So they tell me to remove the PCM fuse for 10 minutes to let the PCM refresh itself.

After waiting for the 10 minutes and making 2 more attempts at reprogramming it with the new flash that they give me, it fails at every attempt. So I just thought what the heck, just try and put the original programming back in and give the tech back his stall .

Just after reinstalling the original programming, Techline calls me and tells me that they are sorry for all the inconvience but the new program that has been released for the 07's is not fully ready and that there are bugs in the new software. These bugs will not allow the PCM to flash correctly and can cause the PCM to go bad. He tells me to try the original programming, which I did already, and that he will call me when he receives more information on when the fixed flash will be available. He said that it might be a while before they can work all the bugs out but it will be fine driving the car with all the Stage 2 kits hardware and the original flash.

He does not have an estimated time that it will be released.

THAT REALLY SUX!!!!

Sorry for the screaming

So have you driven it without the reflash? I wouldn't think I would be fine to drive. When I installed mine on my '06, I drove it to the dealership to get the reflash and it was just dumping gas with those bigger injectors and ran like crap.

They said I can drive it and it wouldn't hurt anything. I guess I'll just take it easy for a bit until GM can call me back and send me the correct flash.

It seems like it drives ok. I can tell that the boost guage is more responsive and the boost builds a lot quicker. And it seems like it idles a little rough but it never idled smooth anyways.

I don't kow what that dealership is thinking, but when I installed mine I was talking to a guy I know who's a mechanic for chevy and he told me NOT to drive it at all, just go get it reflashed and that's it. Oh, and this guy DOES know what he's talking about.

Wow, I wouldn't run around like that for more then a couple days max. Best thing to do is to go back to stock until the program is corrected.

The dealership didn't tell me to drive it. I work at a GM dealership. I done the installs myself and the reflash myself. GM themselves, GM Techline, told me to go ahead and drive it. I'm still wondering if they really know what they are talking about . The Techline rep told me that it will be fine to drive it until the new program comes out. But they are also the ones that told me that the program is out and working fine in the first place too.

Please tell me a foreign company that even sells performance parts for their turbo/supercharged cars that will keep the warrenty on it. The only one I've heard of is a turbo kit for Scions.

Iwould not drive it to much with the big injectors dumping gas into the cylinders.
You will most likly damage your Cat
(Raw gas in the cat causes the internals to over heat and melt together)

I just wonder if anyone else with an 07 has tried installing the kit's yet? Because you know how it is with some support people, one person will tell you one thing and the other will say something totally different.

Your situation isn't the best and I can understand your anger -- I'm sure I'd be pissed too; but please give the techline people some credit -- they called you and appologized for THEIR error. They must have done some research after you called for help, listened to what you said, and took the time to get back with you -- didn't leave you hangin as if it was all your fault. There's some level of service there...

I hope you get it taken care of soon!

Yea. All the Techline guys (and gals) were very nice to me when I asked a million questions. I'm not really mad at them I'm just upset that after a lot of testing and then sending messages out to all GM dealers saying it is now available now it has errors.

HAHA. I should of known that I would be the first to have troubles. That's my luck

I don't want to get into an argument, but I think out of most people on here I deserve the right to stand behind my last comment for one. I earned that with all the issues I've been through, and fixing all GM's/the dealershps mistakes in the end by myself. For your information Subaru and Scion does off the top of my head. Hell even Honda/Acura has been known to help people out with aftermarket kits more than GM is willing to. That was not my point though. My point was is that people are going to foreign cars because they are far more reliable than GM's current products.

Sorry for invading the thread by the way.
