1400 miles

Hey guys I'm just curious to know how our cars do on long trips? I'm driving 700 miles to Georgia in a week and wondering if the cars are fine with it. Any information helps! Thanks!

I drove my old LT on several 1000 mile trips and never had a problem, I don't see why the SS would be any different. It does get uncomfortable as hell though.

they run hot???? wtf are you talking about. cruising on the highway the coolant should be 180-190 unless it is close to or below freezing then it may go down to 176 or so. This is all highway driving. Fans dont cut on till 212 ish.

I just drove 660 miles to Rochester, New York from Fort Knox, Kentucky. Car ran fine. I got almost 29 mpg running between 70-80mph. The only complaint I have with the TCs are the seats aren't very comfortable after about 2-3 hours I'm used to it now, but the first long drive sucked so bad

Just make sure your fluids are good and your wheels are on tight and inflated. Just the standard pre-trip walk around.

Mine did find on my trip to Orlando. Temp stayed about 185 on the Coolant temp. Temp outside was about 80-90F. Had the ac on, but not full blast, and was getting about 31mpg (highway of course)
I had my cruise control set to 70. Since it was a holiday weekend, Cops were out in force. I set 1 of my interceptors up as a speeding light, to come on at 72mph, Then the other as a low fuel light, to come on at 15 liters.
