If I ever get aftermarket rims... they'll be 17's for sure... the 18's look sick... but less rotating mass is always better.

reason i say better performance if i switch to 20's i lose HP to the ground with larger weight and rotating mass. but if i went smaller less weight less rotating mass

Their tires aren't nearly as good as ours... you'll be losing out there.

I shaved 10 lbs on each corner with my 17x7.5" Rotas and Toyo's. Total weight saved 40lbs! Ten pounds of rotational mass off each of the fronts makes a big difference in power to the ground and speeding up.

with 17s in the 1/4 mile you will have to shift into 4th just before the finish line, as the 18's you can ride on through.

Grassroots mag. did a test of how tire sizes effect preformance. IIRC 16" was the best all round with 17" in 2nd, 3rd was 18" and last was 15"

I get the whole save weight, but lets face it, we don't drive race cars. Say you want to go to the track for the day, only have a half of tank of gas, that will save you 48lbs right there.
To me doing something like that is pointless, your friend is going to make out on that deal, getting 18's and better tires for his shatty 17's. Did you forget that is what you paid for? the extra sticker price wasn't just for the wing and a supercharger.
