1st drive

yesterday i drove my ss/sc for the first time since i got it from an auction and repaired the front mild collision. i must say i was not impressed at all with the cars pull. i thought 2nd gear was supposed to pull hard the car trully just lags beyond believe. is this cus its not stage 2 and stock the car is just slow or is there maybe somewhere that im losing lots of power...any ideas...i was getting about 12lbs of boost at full throttle but maybe im losing boost after the guage...my dad put 87 octane in the car could that be the reason..i have no idea guys ..maybe i should dyno it to make sure its were its supposed to be...any pointers on what to look for would be great..just not sure where major loss in power can occur...thanks

just use whatever you can get.

Ill give you this as food for thought. Stage 2 knocks with 91 octane.

Good quality octane boosters do work.
NOS racing formula
Lucas
torco...

avoid the cheaper walmart kinda stuff.....like bardahl, penzoil, wynns etc.

Yes I will agree with that, and the highest I can get out here is 91 octane. It really sucks, but I just go and put in a few gallons of the 100 octane with the 91 octane and I figure I should be a little over 93 octane. At least I do not get any more knock when I do that. Now I just need to get some cooling mods for this stupid desert heat out here. Hey anomalous, are you going to do that how too on that fan relay stuff still. If so shoot me a PM when you do it please, I want to do it to mine. I dont care about CEL's eather, I have a interceptor and can clear them.

remember because you started eith 87 you need one or 2 tankfuls to get the power you are looking for because the computer needs do its thing. THen if the car still feels slow a couple of mods will do the trick lol.

Where you live is probaly pretty hot to like it is here in Vegas. That makes a huge differance, once you IAT's get over 160 your car pulls timing and you can feel a little bit a power loss. I can beat on my car for a little while before I have to back of and let her cool down. And then the IAT's just go right back up again. Invest in some cooling mods, that is what I am doing next, after my new paint job anyway.

Do you have 91 octane fuel where you live?

SS/SC requires 91 octane.

Stage 3 requires 93 octane (unless you've enabled the 100 octane mode).

It's the NOS racing formula from NAPA. I haven't used it It's just been sitting in my room.

Guess that's why I never remarried.

At 47, I can no longer deal with that kind of crap.

91 does not knock. Thats all I can get in Phoenix (other than race gas) and my car has never knocked. I have 2.8" pulley too. So maybe in some cars that are not tuned right or something.
