2.0 Ecotec motor cut out at full throttle.

I have an 2006 cobalt ss with stage 2 upgrades, 2.8 pulley and bigger injectors and a reprogram of the computer running 15 pounds of boost and 93 oc fuel. when I hit full throttle the car cuts out on me. what could this be?

Spark Blowout? Check your plugs.
Also check your DTCs. (Diagnostic Test Codes)
You can have them read at autozone if you don't have a reader yourself.

Also what stage 2 setup are you running?

GM Stage 2 (42lb injectors) + 2.8" Pulley = Maxed out Injectors...

2.0 Ecotec motor cut out at full throttle

I just got the car last week so i never checked the plugs yet.
Also no codes come up and this problem doesn't happen ll the time.
And I also dont know what injectors are in there but the guy said he did the GM stage 2 setup to the car. If i was running with 42lb injectors and a 2.8 pulley what do i need to do?

What do you mean it cuts out?

Like the engine quits running?

Is it only one pop? Does it happen at the same RPM all the time, or vary?

Just saw that you are local. By any chance is the car yellow?

Gm stage 2 injectors cant run a 2.8 pulley most people max them out on a 3.0 pulley some can run a 2.9 but the only people that have been able to run 2.8 on 42s live up very high above sea level u need to order a 3" pulley and swap them out so u dont hurt ur engine

Btw im at 136 feet above sea level and i run 42s and a gm stage 2 pulley(3.06") and my injectors where at like 110% by the end of my power band so that will give u an idea of why ur injectors or running out of fuel when u got WOT.

Ok so I just looked at my pulley and it says 78.0 on it witch is a 3.06in pulley with 42lb injectors so with that said why would it be cutting out at w.o.t?

This is exactly the same as mine. I am on 2.9 with 42lbs, I am planning to switch to 60lbs. And you should be gapped at .035 is the best. Most guys gapped them at .035 to be safe and not have spark blowout.

All good thoughts, but get this one...I think this is happening to me only when my gas tank is low. I also think that the fuel pick up is in the front of the gas tank so when i get on the throttle all the gas goes to the back of the tank and does not pick up any fuel. I filled up today and i dont have the problem any more

It's all about the fuel injectors size and tune.

Cause, the smaller the pulley you go then not enough fuel to cover the amount of air that is forcing into your engine. Your fuel injectors are maxed out at least the most is 3.1 that what it said on ZZP site. If I were you go research on ZZP site you will find the answer that you are looking for. As of right now I would be DAMN careful with 2.8 and 42lbs. It's not safe, you can end up fried your fuel injectors.

Other than a little lean up top, the 2.8/42's setup is fine, I ran it for over 2 years and it never hurt anything.

His problem is an actual problem, not the "OMG YOUR INJECTORS ARE MAXED OUT, YOUR CAR IS GONNA BLOW" urban legend issue.
