2.85 pulley yes or no?

so current mods are
injen cai
magnaflow hiflow dp
catback magnaflow
stage 2 gmpp

so i was curious...planning on getting a tune but wanted to just put the pulley on for now.....
would i mess up anything? and would i feel any gain for the time being or would the stage 2 tune mess stuff up and/or not feel any difference?
thanks guys

Some will tell you it's a terrible idea.. some will tell you they've had their car that way for two years with no problems..

Personally, I wouldn't run it without a tune..

I'm not sure what the Stage 2 Gmpp kit includes, but cooling mods would be a good idea and I would get a tune imo

i would not run anything less than a 2.9 with 42# injectors. just my opinion. i know many that have gone smaller but i do not like the idc any higher than what you see with the 2.9

As far as cooling mods dual end plate (zzp $85) and option b (zzp $115???) The more cooling mods u have the better.... ur car will be able to handle a more aggressive tune.... but I would say don't put the pulley on till right before u get tuned....good luck

I wouldn't run that on the stage 2 injectors personally and DEFINITELY wouldn't swap it on without a tune.

for a 2.8 you need a tune and at least 60's. if you cant get the bigger injectors just wait and save yourself.

get the 60's. its worth it to spend the $100 for them then buying a new motor after it blows on 42's.

and my conclusion....if i put a 2.85 on with 42s....even without an aggresive tune im most likely bound to blow it? this was gonna be my last mod (pulley and tune) then was just gonna let the car be until i sell it after the loans paid off.

ask boost junkie what happends when u put 2.85 pulley on gm stage 2 kit. Your injectors are static, if not close to it, it cant handle a drop in pulley size, you would need 60's and a retune.

cooling mods are a front mount h/e...ottp i believe. and so 42s will be maxed out on a 2.85? reguardless of how agressive or passive the tune? sucks i have to spend more money....but i know i gotta pay to play with this damn "hobby" lol
