The 2.9 will work fine with the stage 2 reflash. Lots of guys have this setup.

Its completely safe with the same tune and everything. No extra parts are needed as long as you get the 2.9 that fits the snout(i.e. ZZP or whatever) You can go as small as a 2.8 on the stage 2 setup. However, its not recommended because you may screw up the injectors by maxing them out but that depends on how you drive.

stage 3 - 2.99...

and a true 2.90" pulley.. is.. well.. 2.90"

both are PERFECTLY safe on the gm stage 2 TUNE.

im with everyone else though, get a real tune to utilize the pulley/combo. I wish someone had a tuner near me my car pulls ***** hard for being on a gm stage 2 tune. 106mph traps, before header, clutch, and heat exchanger

the 2.85 is fine IF you tune for it.
2.8 is pushing it severely
2.9 is peachy

GM Stage 3 pulley is advertised as 76mm, anyone measure it with a set of calipers? It is 2.91 in. in diameter at the top of the belt grooves. I have measured it many times along with my Pulley Boys 2.8", Stage2 77.9 (actually measured 76mm), ZZP 2.9 and a few others for comparision. All aftermarket pulleys measured as advertised, GM's were not!

I dont see why you cant run a 2.8" pulley, CA stage 2 is just about the same setup but with a 2.85" pulley.

i heard it's ok to run the 2.8, as long as you keep it under 6k rpm's without bigger injectors and a new tune...

What are you're mods? Do you have the stage 2 injectors or do you have 60#ers? Any cooling mods? New tune?

the 2.8 IS pushing it severely. unless you can lower boost.

i put down 262/224 on the stage 2 pulley, intake, full exhaust, and my personal tune.

so it's really up to you. the 2.8 on my car was fine till about 6400, then the a.f skyrocketed like a sticking injector
