2 thumbs up for gm performance catback

just thought id let anyone know that didnt already, the GM performance catback system is awesome! just put 1 on today and although i have no dyno sheets i would say im feeling every bit of the advertised 12 hp gain. sounds great too! took about 30 minutes to install with just car ramps no lift. only complaint was having to cut the stock pipe in 2 places to get it out but with a lift it might come out with 1 cut. i have never experienced such an easy to install kit like this before. special thanks to crateengine depot for selling the set for 300 bucks less than the dealer.

Just got mine Installed today along with stage 2. its sounds great. and the stage 2 really puts down the power. I really was suprised that Gm made such a loud exhaust for the street. I wasn't sure what to expect but USFIELDMP assured me that it sounded good. A nice deep tone. No ricer-roni effect here.

i like the sound of the exhaust as well. the sound is better than my corsa (in my opinion), but a smaller diameter. that is the only turn off i have to the gmpp cat back

Does anybody have a sound clip of what this sounds like. I'm currently running a straight through exhaust on my cobalt that's about four inches so it's relatively loud. Can't beat the performance but when I get up at 5:30 in the morning and go to work that's the last thing I want to hear.

Just wondering if anybody had some clips or knew where to send me to listen to some.

Won't this exhaust get restrictive once you start pushing at least 250 hp considering its only 2.25 piping? Thats my only downfal and why im thinking about ordering magnaflow at the end of the month.

i thought it was 2.5 inch but i could be wrong. its really the resonator and muffler that free up the power from what i could see when they were both on the floor in the garage. there are sound clips on the crateenginedepot website under cobalt performance parts. it gives all 3 exhaust sounds. i believe the performance style is the last clip. my neighbor has a gti with a bigger turbo than stock and he got a worried look when i took him for a blast. he said he didnt realize how quick the SS/SC is.

I have one on my 2.2...and the difference between stock, and the GMPP exhaust is unbelievable. The sound is great, and it is not as sluggish as it was with the stock exhaust! Next mod - GMPP Header or CA Header not sure which yet.

Well distillion dynoed at 266 and he says no restrictions as of yet so i take his word. It is still a toss up because magnaflow on a 5.7 camaro and a 2.0 cobalt ss/sc is a lot different.

true enough rocco. personally i think the performance style sounds less ricey than the sport style but anything sounds better than stock. you will feel the gains with either im sure as both styles boast 12 hp gain.

Anyone know if magnaflow exhaust is emissions legal and does it void the warranty?
