298.8whp...F my life!
So last time out in October I put down 282whp on a dynapack dyno over in Carlisle. This was with the 75MM pulley on making crazy IAT, piston protection on screwing up the AFR into the 10s, only 19 psi, stock throttle body, M4 nozzle on methanol injection, stock timing.
Since then I went to the 80mm pulley, pistion protection off with a better tune, 21-25 degrees of timing, 21.5psi, LS4TB, M8.7 meth nozzle on fuller and earlier. Went back to the same dyno.
First few runs I had the methanol accidentally switched off, lean and knock with hardly any timing. Got that straight and got the AFR dialed into where I wanted it which was 11.65 didn't see much more than 19-20 degrees of timing. At about 5500 the car was misfiring pretty much on every run and the tq drops off alot. Couldn't find the cause initially but we figured out what it is. The spark plugs, I'm using a stock heat range plug which is copper the NGKBKR6E gapped at .040.
I know absolutely nothing about spark plugs and spark blowout. Thats way too much gap from what I'm told for in excess of 20psi. So I'm going to make the switch over to NGK BKR7E im going to start at .035 and work my way down to whenever it stops. On the street the problem was never noticeable, too much road and wind noise but on the dyno you can hear it quite clearly.

I felt your pain man. My 06 fought me every inch, but I learned a lot as a result. My MAF settings were alkways fk'in up and all sorts of stuff. Then I get my lnf drop in a K&N and get a respectable tune and presto 310wHp/330tq. Fak me.. 06black and those guys I am sure can help you crack the 300 mark. Spark plug gap was my nemisis too, I ended up at .029 in order to stop my lsj from bogging into second. I would say your close enough to say you have 300 anyway. Hang in there, thats a clean lookin balt dood.

Yea thats what I'm using it for, the numbers would mean more if everyone in the world used the exact same dyno. I try to always use the same dyno that way I always have the same point of reference. This dynapack works well for me since most other dynos you have to get it up on rollers precisely which with the LS4 is virtually impossible to do. Theres no straps or anything either messing up my rims or risk of the car flying away.

id rather have the engine right first, if i go and its not right i pop a motor thats 3k, if i go and run shitty times the worst that can happen is an axle thats a few hundred bucks big deal.
I wont be racing till fall
