3" catless dp or repair 2.5" highflow catted
3" catless dp or repair 2.5" highflow catted
well i recently had a 2.5" highflow cat dp and the flex pipe went out.
(i perfer to describe it as the inside mesh and the metal tubing inside imploded) the remins were found on top of the cat and the outside had completely frayed out and a few weaves were stressed to the breaking point and unraveled.
so my lesson learned is dont buy the cheepest s**t. but lesson learned i went back to stock dp and the hp loss is aggrivating...
my quesiton is
1) should i replace the flex pipe on blown dp i currently have and if so what brand, weaving, or make up should i get so this doesnt blow out again? (the other was terrible and lasted maybe 3-4 months before it went) I have already tried to contact mandrellexhaust.com but wont pick up calls, return call, or return emails. and my product is past the 90 day or so warrenty. the flex section is believed to be a 3"wide x 4"long.
2)should i get a ottp or zzp 3'' no cat dp? costs? gains? sound? and reliability? are the deciding factors.
another note is does anyone know what kind of flex pipe mandrellexhaust.com uses? so i can stay clear of that again. also my tune doesnt utilize the 2nd o2 bung so i dont need a cat and im from ks with no emissions inspections
In summary....
blown dp and leakes terribly at flex pipe and needs to be fixed.
should i fix my aftermarket 2.5" dp if so estimate on cost of parts and labor and recomendation on part
or should i get a new 3" catless dp and if so what brand? hows the sound and hows the quality and durability?
ill be running stock header to whichever dp then to a 2.5" aluminized steel piping to stock muffler.
thanks and sorry for my spelling error(s) i committed and sorry for the long write up.

btw please don't just give neative comments that are off topic

I would go catless if I were u. I melted 3 cats before I said the hell with it and went catless. I also prefer the 3 inch dp to the 2.5 but that's preference depending on your modifications. I have the tvs on a 2.7 so 3 inches is what I use. Good luck on what ever u decide.
