Yeah, I have full 3" exhaust with the stock ride hight, and I "clunk" all the time, I can't imagine how bad it would be if my car was lowered!

Where's your's coming from. My exhaust hits my rear floor plan right in front of the rear axle. I'm going to see if I can find a new exhaust hanger. That little rubber peice.

It's because the axle is actually hitting the exhaust. Well that's what Blown 4-banger's car does.

Yeah, when I go over bumps the rear axle comes up and bumps into the exhaust.

I plan on doing a 1.0 and 1.3" drop and still on the fence as far as if I want 3" exhaust. Is it worth it to get the 3" exhaust??

Exhaust

I though about puttin a CAT elimination pipe on the car. Do you think this would help with performance on a stock exhaust. What can I say I'm cheap

maybe replace that section with something like this (only round on both ends)

1 ft section of oval 304 stainless tubing can be found here

Really depends on your mod level, and what you want out of the car.

Putting a cat delete pipe in WILL give you a performance increase, but the increase you will see with a stock or mostly stock car will be over shadowed by pure squishy diarea **** coming out of the exhaust in the form of sound waves in other words, you exhaust will sound like ass with a side order of **** and ****. The only way to get a good sounding exhaust with no cat is to use bigger mufflers. My 3" exhaust has no cat, and has a 14" long 4" diameter resonator half way down the exhaust, then a 14" long 5"x8" oval muffler about 8" before the exhaust tip. All 3" exhaust but it took some extra muffler power to suppress the insane amount of rasp you will get with no cat. My exhaust has a very slight amount of rasp at about 2700 rpm when its cold, once it warms up theres no rasp. Even with the muffling my exhaust has, ITS STILL LOUD AS ****!!! In a good way though.

So far, I have an Injen CAI, GM Stg2 with 2.79 Pulley, and 7K Redline. I will be working on gettin a tune and exhaust as my next big performance mod upgrade. Suggestions?? Size is prob one of my biggest reasons for being on the fence. I have heard the Hahn and Vibrant 3" and liked the sound though.

If you don't plan on going to a smaller pulley, I wouldn't go smaller than 2.5" or maybe 2.75" exhaust. Your not moving enough air to benefit from a 3" exhaust.

Thats what I was thinking. In that case, what suggestions do you have for an exhaust that sounds remotely close to the deepness of the Hahn and Vibrant with good gains and is either 2.5" or 2.75"?? Thanks, I really appreciate the help

That's good to hear. I may end up going with their 2.75" It'll be the best of both worlds I think..

check out jbody performance, they sell poly bushings for the hangers. the stock rubber ones are probably allowing too much travel with the heavier exhaust.
