Thats the only way to do it. Anyone that says they can do 400hp on the stock blower is a liar and doesn't know they first thing about motors.

definitely agreed, something more efficient would be alot smarter and would allow 400hp to be attainable much quicker, but i just want to see someone do it.

I just recently picked up a book at work on how to build your ecotec engine up from stock to 1400hp....of course they go in series from stock-250hp, 250-400hp, 400-600hp, etc. but they list every part number for every part that you will need to acheive the marks as well as how to install the parts......pretty interesting....and most of it is internal to increase combustion etc...and they use a TURBO obviously...

400 WHP or CHP big difference... 400 CHP i would think is very possible.. WHP forget it without a 150 shot or something crazy, but the eaton creates way too much eat to do it easily without anything added FI wise... turbo or SC swap would get you there easy

exactly, read my mod list. my engine is built up to handle 500hp as per GM ecotec build guide

Well I'm using 9.5:1 compression pistons, and with the intercooler setup I'm using, IAT2 shouldn't be an overwhelming issue. We shall see. I definatly think 400 hp at the crank is possible on pump gas, maybe not at the wheels though.

finally someone saw it.

OH, add water injection on that too, full cooling mods, drilled thermostat, head studs, rod studs/bolts, every single bolt on known to man, and a killer tune.

it's not going to happen with a stock m62. i don't care what magical clown hogged out the blower, or what pulley you are running.

If you like superchargers so much, try a Procharger.

I wanted 400HP with stock SC, but have realized the only way it can be done is with 150 shot of N20. that is how the time attack cobalt got things done. it was fast but if your not about nos then turbo it. you go better and not on a bottle.

Now don't be silly you can't pull an ice cube out of a dragons ass! They breath fire and keep extra fire in their tummy's. If you could even put an ice cube in the ass of a dragon it would surely melt in no time.

Check out my video on photobucket. I'm aware. The same cams he's gonna use I tested already. Unless he has special cams that have nitrous jets in the cam lobes then he isn't gonna make anywhere CLOSE to 400whp on the stock blower.

who said it was a fire dragon?!!!
maybe an ice dragon?

maybe the abominal snowman, and a dragon had a love child?

BTW, going too big on the cam side is bad for any engine, regardless of build. it's like putting a .700 lift cam in a stock 350. sure it sounds mean, but it can't get up any hills. there is a fine art to picking the right cam/cams for a motor. not the "oh thats big, that will work"

i deal with people who have the mentallity of bigger is better on a daily basis.

Actually, if you would have to rebuild the motor but it should be pretty attainable with 10.5:1 or even 11.0:1 pistons with the stock supercharger. Higher compression and lower boost will make more power and more power faster then lower compression and higher boost. Of course port and polished head would be inline too. Yes its possible but instead of just 'buying a turbo' you could take this route or wait for the TVS supercharger kit to come out for the LSJ since that would be easier, more efficient, and might be cheaper.

Regards,

Ryan

Sorry guys this won't work with pump gas. But you can try it and waste your money if you want. I was running 10:1 pistons evo 272 grind cams 2.8 pulley and couldn't run any timing at all. Yes it made more power with less boost but no where near 400hp.
Now on race gas you could make serious power. I'd recommend a forged motor your choice of pulley and 150 shot nos if you want to have a fast street car.
