Very true i had half a kit, and i just turned around and sold it to someone else, casue i just forsaw it burning a hole in my pocket. i mainly never wanted to experiance the nitrous blow back/ back fire, and blow my fresh motor, i rather just play it safe.

i should of kept it now that i think of it and use it in a different meathod persay. cyro spray my aftercooler.....

as of right now, had a bad issue with the camshaft sensor not being properly aligned when my stock cams were re-installed. We started tuning before we got around to checking the alignment of the cams and sensor so all of the tables were screwed up. Either today or tomorrow, my tuner (Joe) is going to place my old tune back on the car (tvs minus the ported head and aftermarket pistons) and rebuild things from there. Car pulls like a freight train now, but the fueling is breaking up around 6500. She doesn't like being pushed to hard past that. I'm also trying to find out where the wall is for the 60's. Oddly enough, the idc's are only around 75% right now, so we're moving along slowly to see where the line stops at.

neither of those. It was the sensor being 180 degrees out of alignment with the cam. Car wouldn't start for ****, but as soon as that was lined up properly, it fires up everytime.

The break-in for the engine is done, the main thing now is that hp tuners is showing the car pulling like 31 degrees of timing at certain points.

wtf?

I learned about burst knock retard, timing the computer is pulling in anticipation of knock. This is happening because of the tuning done when the cams were out of alignment and pretty much all fo the tables were screwed up. That's why we're having to backtrack.

That cam sensor is just for starting the motor. It has no affect on drivability or tuning.

I know that, but there were issues we were trying to compensate for thinking it was a problem with the tuning. Once we figured out that the cam sensor wasn't aligned properly, the car started fine, but I'm seeing retarded amounts of timing being pulled on throttle tip in. That's the direction the witch hunt is going in now. And why were backtracking to the beginning again so there won't be any chasing of tails.

Ok, just letting you know. I ran my car without the sensor for almost a year after I built mine. Just got used to the couple cranks it would take to fire up.

I talked to old Joe about your car the other day. Looking forward to seeing how it does on the dyno.

it's going to be a monster man. I'm still learning how to drive it again, but it breaks free in first and second without much issue.

thanks man. I got a huge comparo that'll be coming up in the next few weeks, and it's likely to make a few manufacturers upset. But it will be beneficial for the cobalt community at the same time.

why you stop at 7200? you can spin 8192 with that set-up all day long... you wont make power that high on the head and cams and you will be over spinning your blower but it would be a lot of fun burring the tach before shifting...

seems you need to go turbo or tvs...

I think with the tvs that it will make steady power up until my redline. But the dyno's will be posted.

ralli, I have no shame, but i do believe in this build I have. All numbers will be posted as things move up, and nothing will be fudged. Trust me, with what I'm doing soon, a lot of people will be upset. I'll let you know soon what I'm talking about.

i think alot of guys thought they would slap on a tvs and some supporting mods then hit the rollers expecting 350... when they didnt make nearly that and barely broke 270 it broke down there confidence and with that the numbers went into the closet...

but, what i think they dont realize is a sc car takes a little more tuning and is a little finicky at times. its not a turbo car where you cram in a bunch of air and fuel and make great power, it just takes alot more than that...

on the same tune you might be making 320 one day and only 295 the next... that what suck to me about sc's their to picky...

turbo makes the same psi no matter what, (generally) and usually the same temp air or close to it. (cool dense air charge, and alot of it) but thats just my opinion
