60's vs 42.5's
60's vs 42.5's
I searched but couldnt find any info. I was just wondering this because I like to buy for the future and thought why go with 42.5' when 60's are there.
Why would u choose to go with 42.5s when 60's are aviable? If u want to go smaller on the pulley later on then u whould probably have to get bigger injections and would have wasted money on the injectors and in extra tuning time.
edit: if there is alreday a post about this then link it and I will delete this thread

Depends on how small of a pulley you want to go with. You can have the car tuned to run perfectly fine with the 42's on a 2.8" pulley. She will run pretty lean on that pulley with those injectors till tuned properly though.
the reason most people have the 42's as opposed to the 60's is because they are buying a GM Stage kit. This comes with 42's. While still keeping your warranty (and your mouth shut), you can drop down to a slightly smaller pulley.
If you are planning on modding outside of gm kits, by all means get the 60's.

i was in the same boat as you were before and personally i'm going with the 60's since they give me more room to do stuff to and right now i have a 2.9 pulley but im also looking for a smaller pulley like 2.6 so i can swap it later on. if i were u, i'd get get 60's but remember you need the harness other then that, FTW..and kill some ricers..
Daily drivability is great with the 60's in fact. My car gets the best gas milage I've ever had on the highway and street if I don't boost with the 60's. I netted 35.8MPG at 80mph the other day on a road trip, and in traffic I can get 25-28MPG. Now if you boost all the time you'll be looking at 18ish MPG.
im on the same boat right now and im leaning towards the 60's... as far as tuning how hard is it to do without a wideband. I know wideband is best bet but is it nessicary? Any way someone willing to give out there tune for 60lb injectors?
