80000 miles:(

I just hit 80000 miles and I really want to make my engine last. I need some ideas on what to check to see how healthy/unhealthy my engine is. I maintained it well and I'm tuned by area47. Any tips would be much appreciated.

1.) Start your car.
2.) Find an open road.
3.) Launch car as hard as possible.
4.) Bang every gear like your trading it in tomorrow taking it to Redline everytime.
5.) Slow down and pull off to side of road.
6.) Pop hood sit back and relize you cars just as good as the day it was bought.

In all serious tho 80,000 miles on this motor is nothing. Maintain it properly and the engine will last forever. Now tranny, charger, and everything else is a different story. Change tranny fluid, maybe charger oil. Flush both coolant systems, probably not needed till about 100,000 tho. Other than that you should be good to go. I'm 94,000 and running strong as can be and I'm sure there are many more high milage LSJs on here that will attest to there cars still running beautifully.

im at 95k was always stock untill i just now got catless dp and exhaust...and did the air box mod...and got my car tuned..

Any tests u can run?
Well you could do like compression tests and such...but it wont help you prolong the life of your engine..just tell u it's either good or already screwed up.
Other then that I can't really think of any "tests".
Follow your maintenance plan accordingly.
Give your car good gas.
Thats about it.

80 is nothing. mike made it to 210k i think before his car got totalled and i dont think he had any major engine problems. my 2.2 is at 154k and i neglect it for the most part on oil changes and service intervals. im abour 4k over the 3k oil change. need to get it in but always find something else to do. i still havent even gotten my recall taken care of. youre good to go. seafoam would be a waste of money really unless you really abuse it and never change the oil

Do an engine oil analysis. You can get them done by blackstone laboratories for $25. The oil analysis will tell you how "healthy" your engine really is.

mines at 76,000 as of today, all i did was change tranny fluid at 50k, supercharger oil at 65k, oil every whenever the meter says, and spark plugs every other oil change and ive had no problems. will be building the head in the spring so ill have a new top end, and then maybe the following year ill put pistons in so the whole bottom end is forged, but in the mean time while were in the bottom end i might replace bearings etc basically wear items. but for now she runs mint on a 2.7, supporting mods, and meth
