AAM 3 inch Catback Sound Clips

Guys,

Just picked up a silencer for my exhaust. I did a before and after sound clip. Can't tell much from the clip, but when your cruising around and not heavy on the gas the silencer *really cuts down the sound levels*. Video is taken with my digicam so it's not the best quality but you get an idea...

Before the Silencer
After the Silencer

It definately made a difference in sound.

I read on Clownhair's thread that the opening was pretty big. It doesn't look that bad in the video, almost stock.

its 4" opening, I was sticking my arm into it and kinda thought it was big. It could be worse, like 6 inches.

.5" more is not so bad. I may be considering this setup.

only thing i dont like about the SS is the sound, when i drove it i thought it sounded like a weed whacker...total turn off. But then again i drive a vr6, so theres nothing much that sounds better.

I like it! Reminds me of when I first heard a 350Z exhaust. I love the tone!

Sounds good! What's what that puff of black smoke, though? I hope that was just stuff burning off the new exhaust....

I am not worried about a little black smoke when your reving like that, just means it's running rich.

The exhaust has a 4 inch open tip, it's VERY loud without the silencer, it's not raspy but it's thundering loud. With the silencer the opening is 2.5 inches, which is the same size as the stock system.

I will try to get some video, but my digi cam does all the video and the sound capture SUCKS unless your right on top of it.

Sounds too "teenager" to me. I'm not old, but I feel too old to drive around in a loud 4 banger. I'll wait to see what the Borla sounds like.

Still got the exhaust installed, the silencer is stuck in there at this point and the catpipe/catback gasket has been a bitch to keep sealed up.
