So i've been asking alot of questions here lately about this gauge because i just got it, and i'm installing it now. the red and black wire... did you guys just tap into the boost gauge wireing? i did a little research and i've seen in some of the threads that this is what some of you guys did. Did you see any side affects from doing this, like the light dimming on the boost gauge. or did it stay relativly the same? Also who grinded down the hold down bracket on the wide band so that you could rotate it more so that its not cockeyed (sp)? Thanks!
Also, Those of you with the CA dual or 3 guage a pillar and running the stock boost gauge, did you just shove it in there and not use anything to hold it down on the back?

i tapped into the boost gauge and mine runs fine.
also i dremeled the hell out of the CA gauge pod lol

that guage calls for a min 10 amp circut as it heats the 02 sensor. (i used a 15 amp inline fuse). i initially grounded it to the battery but has noise interference, so i popped the side dash cover off from the drivers side, and there is a big metal bracket in there. it provided continuity, so i grounded it there and there was less noise.
now here is the kicker..... i then grounded the dash to my battery and the guage, and the noise was the least. goto aem forum, they recommend the PITA wiring of relays and power and ground directly from the battery. thats what i did and hated the noise.
hope this helps.
ps i dremeled to the moon and back, and got mine seated all the way in. i put it in the middle of my CA triple pod. stock by W/S, and interceptor on top.

the guage itself makes a high pitch noise. AEM is aware. it is a modulation pulse to heat the sensor.
certain grounding will make it audible over stereo. then again i am all alpine now. on the aem forum, many ,many complaints of this noise, even on cobalt stereos.

eh great, this is something i will find a solution to. that will drive me ******* crazy if it does, i may try to find a decent spot on the frame, but then again the ground would be like 2 foot long, and you should not ever have a ground longer than 12''
nop..it tucks in pretty good,so no neeed for a rode and bolts to hold it in place...but the aem eugo gauge, ull have to trim one of the pods to make it fit in perfectly
^yeah i've had that fun already...lol... do they not test fit a gauge in there before they send them out?
sorry about all the questions but where can i find an add a fuse localy...wally world?

yeah mines is tie in and no noise... no dim lights... everything seems fine...
funny seems like everyone puts it in the middle and then the interceptor on top.... we must all have good taste

not something I felt comfortable tapping off an existing line.
this isnt just a gauge, it draws power to heat the sensor too.
when i ran my aem and interceptor off the same power line, the interceptor was getting hardly enough power to run because the aem draws quite a bit more.
