Aeroforce Interceptor.... problems...

Well i just sent in my gauge in for work last week. They received it last Thursday, and it was in my mailbox this friday. So awesome turn around time...

BUT, i installed it today and it worked fine for about an hour, but then it went back to its old habits of not displaying anything.... anyone else having more issues with their repaired gauges?

Thanks,
Ryan

What is the warranty on their gauge...? I thought it was only 90 days, which is a concern considering its going to be in a car that gets hot on occasionally...

hmm, got mine from Intense since it was assured they had the newer, fixed version. I've had it for almost a month now with no problems (other than the display getting funky after sitting in the sun for a couple hours one time, unplugged it, plugged it back in and it was fine). I tapped into the original power wire from the old gauge, don't know where you hooked yours to or if it really makes a difference.

Quick question eveyone has differnt habits. But were u running the deforster at the time?
Reason i ask i was runnning my deforster with the heat and the gauge did the same thing. what i realized was one of the defrost vents is right next to the gauge.

I hope your not running it off the power wire for you boost gauge? I had the same problem... used an add-a-fuse under the hood's fuse box and don't you know it works fine

I used the boost gauge wire and besides the time i was blowing hot air on the gauge it works great.

You may have an "old" gauge.

I got mine from Intense a few weeks ago and before I did I e-mailed them to ask about the 06' problems and if they were fixed. (Denny said the issue was). Todd got back to me with an exerpt from his e-mail with Aeroforce that said they had found that the electric power steering was the problem and the fluctuation when turning the wheel caused a surge that screwed with the gauge. I have mine on the old boost gauge power wire and it works like a champ.

Did you solder the wires or just crimp them? (not meant to offend your mechanical skills)

When my guage get's hot it stays red. It needs to be cool and out of the sun. Got mine from Intense no problems except the reaction from the heat. Also using the boost guage power supply.

It's 110*F here. So when my car sit in the sun for 8 hours it turns on but I can see anything. When the guage cools down I see everything perfectly. I'm not having power issues.....just too fricken hot out here. If my AC is blowing on it the numbers start coming in sooner.

Do you guys know if the boost gauge power wire is tied to the dimmer circuit? If not, why does the boost gauge need a power wire?

there are 2 seperate wires.
one for the power and the other for when the lights are turned on to illuminate the stock boost gauge.
the pink wire is the power source to use (from the stock boost gauge) that will turn on with the ignition.

Is the boost gauge mechanical - has a pressure tube connected to the back, or electrical - sees a signal from the MAP sensor?

Anyway, it would not hurt to try a different voltage source to at least eliminate any questions.
