AFE power is going to release a new intake for the lsj
hello every 1 just wanted to let all the lsj owners out there that there is going to be another intake comeing out for the lsj cobalts. i was the test dummy for this product and with this intake i made 18whp anf 18wtq on a mustang dyno . i feel quite a difference in the car with this intake over an airbox mod which was what i had but before the airbox mod i had a fujita. and compairing the fujita to the afe i feel a big difference between the two. i was extremely impressed in the quality and design of the intake.i will up load some photos of the intake asap. its uses a large 4in filter and is 4in pipeing that has a transision to 3in pipeing. its a 2 piece and there is no rubbing issues cause i let them know about the other issues with the other intakes and i feel they did an amazing job with this 1. so you guys should check it out soon. they said they are going to release is tomorrow so check it out at
www.afepower.com
if its not up yet u shoud give afe power a call at 951-493-7100
and talk to them about the intake

Where is the maf housed? In the 4" or 3" section? Is your car an '07? The '07 ss/sc has the brake lines ran a little differently (in front of the PCM, not the brake lines by the caliper)

I don't think the gains are gonna be that high, but it's still cool to see more and more companies making parts for the lsj's / cobalts. I looked through the site quickly and didn't even see our car listed on it anywhere. If someone finds the link post it up. I wanna see what it looks like and the pricing on it. I am in no way interested in it, just a bit curious.

im also gonna call bs on this. there is no way your going to gain 18tq/hp by changing a peice of plastic pipe to aluminum and changing the air filter (thats all a CAI is). looking at the pics, it doesnt even look that good. it appears it hits the pcm, and id be very concerned about it setting lean codes due to the increased diameter of the pipe and location of the maf. id bet the maf will require re-scaling to compensate for the large pipe.

Until Dyno #'s are posted, anyone with a shred of common sense is going to call BS on 18hp/18tq gain with an intake on a 4 banger. 300+HP v8's don't even see those kind of gains from a 4" intake.
