i see on somebody's mods it says air silencer removed does anybody now what a air silencer is

all i know are the silencer holes in the supercharger outlet, and some people plug those to get a more powerful whine out of their cars.

there is a silencer at the end of your intake tube on a stock intake. They removed it to have a louder SC
