alright guys.. need an answer

I was driving down the highway today.. my buddy was behind be.. It was about say.. +4

I think i am running rich cause i did a 40mph punch in 2nd.. and my friend said.. just a bunch of blue smoke. I guess i am dumping to much fuel.. I am still running the stage 2 kit from gm, just with an intake, and gm stage 2...

could i throw a 2.9 to lean it out?

I don;t have my interecptor gauge yet.. so i can;t really scan anything yet.. and none around to tune up North.

hmmm... weird.. i would say that the Vtechs burn a little oil naturally at WOT or giving it... because I think excess fuel in the exhaust would just be a raw fuel smell and whitish smoke... to the best of my knowledge....

did your friend notice any smells?

Black smoke would be carbon deposits comming off or parts of your exhaust, valves etc....

Blue smoke is oil, black smoke is fuel, and white smoke is coolant/water.

alright thanks guys.. i guess i will take it to the dealers.. or check it again.. if its black.. that means to much fuel which means i am running rich... gm tune.. so i could throw a 2.9 to help it a bit.. for the time being.. so i don;t have to tune?

Black smoke is running rich
Blue smoke is definitely oil
White smoke is coolant

No engine should burn oil unless it's a two-stroke or rotary. Get it checked out right away.

Blue Smoke: Blue smoke is caused by engine oil entering the cylinder area and being burned along with the fuel air mixture. As with the white smoke, just a small drop of oil leaking into the cylinder can produce blue smoke out the tailpipe. Blue smoke is more likely in older or higher mileage vehicles than newer cars with fewer miles.

How did the engine oil get inside the cylinder in the first place? The car has many seals, gaskets, and O-rings that are designed to keep the engine oil from entering the cylinder, and one of them has failed. If too much oil leaks into the cylinder and fouls the spark plug, it will cause a misfire (engine miss) in that cylinder, and the spark plug will have to be replaced or cleaned of the oil. Using thicker weight engine oil or an oil additive designed to reduce oil leaks might help reduce the amount of oil leaking into the cylinder.

Typically blue smoke means bad headgasket or valve seals.

I vote for bad headgasket
