stg 2 with the 2.9 is an awesome combo but if you want to seriously make power a 2.8 with a tune and the gm injectors would be nasty

temp and air density will affect what your boost gauge reads.. that plus its not accurate

temperature wont add 3psi over what it should be

you have a problem.

the two most common are:
Clogged cat
Innaccurate boost gauge.

if you are truely boosting 18psi, on 42lb injectors, you are heading for trouble.

I would find a local ss/sc to beg to borrow his stock boost gauge to test that first.

Im assuming you dont have an interceptor right?

btw, for the moment i would suggest avoiding WOT runs until you get it sorted out...
your boost levels are the equivalent of a 2.6 pully on stage 2 injectors and tune.....

Could possibly be a bad intercooler pump

I can understand what venom is saying. I has a ls body and since the weather has been colder lately my is more responsive in the throttle when i push on the gas. Since it has been in the 30-40 lately. I think its more of the weather than anything else. I know we were having 20-30 mph winds on saturday.

this could be tru too...i put a 2.85 on mine with NO intercooler, and WOT was getting 18 psi, and at one time i was hitting over 20psi near the top of 4th gear.

I have an interceptor, and with K&N intake, S2, 2.85, and 38* this morning i managed 17.5 at the top of 3rd gear. any other time all I see is 15.5-16.5 at most. my stock boost gauge was lying to me too, because before i got the Interceptor it was saying 17.5 all the time.

I think its the cold weather honeslty. I was going 85mph in 3rd at 6k rpms and I normally have to shift at 80 mph before redline. Just wait till the cold front passes threw.
