I'm so dissapointed. I got the ZZP header and downpipe first, and the exhaust was a little louder and raspier. I thought it would be better after I got my cat-back....soooo wrong. The car is officially a riceburner now. I'm almost embarassed to drive it, and I refuse to get on it. It sounds like straight pipe with a coffee can on the end of it. Its 2.5" with a Magnaflow muffler, it also has the high flo magnaflow cat.
Do you think the muffler has to break in a little bit, in a sense? I'm hoping the rattle-can sound will go away after a while...but I'm not betting on it. I'm thinking I might have a resonator installed, and replace the tip with a resonated tip, but I don't know how much it'll really help, and how much of the performance that'll inhibit.

Oh but performance wise...wow! I noticed a little with the header and downpipe, but now with the cat-back....it feels like the engine is breathing sooo much better. Everything it tons smoother.

I suppose you'll all want an exhaust clip. I'll see what I can do.

Before i demodded my IRL i had a LT header, no cat, a resonator and a nice loud dynomax muffler. It sounded like a 4cyl but the performance was worth it. You can't really expect much. It's not a V8 so it will never sound good.

I have a 2.5 in magnaflow resonator that they wouldn't put on cause the ******* I bought it from cut it off right at the can part itself...they were afraid it was going to rattle...

I just had high hopes I could make it similar to my talon....I figured it would be louder but with the same tone, and they sound nothing alike.

Turbo 4 cylinders are a different story

I think I'm going to take it back to them and tell them to make it work, lol. Cause this is fucked.

Its a 22" resonator, it should make a descent difference....

it's a wee bit noisy. you get used to it.

you should post an exhaust clip. I got a couple videos but either nero or my camera is retarded...I can't put them on my computer.

I only got it cause with a smaller than stage 2 pulley, its almost a necessity if you want the full gains. Thats why Stage 3 recommends exhaust. I love the gain I got from it, its extremely noticeable, gas mileage is a bit better also. My car loves it, but I don't.

I have the 3" downpipe, so the 2.5" one might not sound as bad...but I don't know. I've been listening to exhaust clips and it seems that the cat-back only's don't sound as bad as the full exhausts do...though I saw some hahns full exhaust clips that were not bad at all.

Note : Bad to me, might be different to someone else....to me bad is loud and fart-can style raspy

Yeah it makes sense to have one at that point for sure...I guess when I get there I'll just have to research alot to find a quiet good sounding one that still performs

Has anyone thought of working with the stock resonator and muffler? Maybe not so much the muffler because i think its just a big ball of fiberglass.... But has anyone thought to replace all the crush bent pieces of the stock exhaust with 2.5 mandrel pieces? The rest of the exhaust should be fine as it is 2.5 already. It should give some gains with minimal increases in sound. Just a thought. Anyone try this?

I hate the way my car sounds, but it moves so I guess that makes it somewhat acceptable. I was going to go turbo for that reason alone to quiet it down a bit.
