Anyone else has this happen with the crankcase cover hose?

Well I decided to get stuff ready because I was going to plan on getting my cam cover powdercoated. First thing I did on it was try to take the crankcase ventilation hose that is on the backside of it. I squeezed the clamp and tried to slide the hose off, nope not going it's stuck on. So I slid the clamp back further, and WTF. The rubber was missing in areas where the clamp has sat on it, I could see the metal on the nipple from where the clamp has sat. The only thing I can think of is that the clamp is so tight that it worked through the hose. So now the hose is pretty much fucked if I try to take it off, becuse it will more than likey rip apart at the nipple area on the cam cover. Thanks to genuis GM you can't buy just a section of the crakcase ventilation hose, you have to buy the whole damn thing that leads up to the air intake tube.

Anyone had this happen before when taking of a cam cover? I guess I'll just have to buy a new hose now, but still it's pretty shitty for this to happen

you can buy prebent hoses at any auto parts store...take it off and take it with you to match it up...i normally just ask them if i can walk to the back and find one that will work...alot of times it is a hose with a couple bends that i can cut a portion off of
