taking it to 246 HP is nothing to get worked up about. That would make it a high 13, MAYBE if you were mario andretti get you a mid 13. I am disappointed. I was hoping for more yielded results then that. Maybe they are afraid that it will kill the motor giving it more then 250HP even though I know myself it won't.

Bah, screw it. be better to wait for someone to come out with a kit that can yield more results then GM and have it be cheaper. Just enough power to beat a stock SRT-4 neon w/light mods and they aren't even in a stage category yet. Disappointing if you ask me. Just paying for the name *stage*

re-cablibration of the computer means more fuel. The injectors on the SS are just enough to get it by with what it has STOCK.

Humm.... sounds pretty good... I was hoping that the stage two would launch us around 280hp...

These pacakges better be fairly cheap... and keep the GM warrenty intact!

I was expecting 280 from a stage 2, there may be additional kits though so I would not dismiss it.

Even with 240hp, add an exhaust and an intake and you'll have at least 250hp easily.

Also considering most SS/SC's dyno at ~210whp, there is a good chance of under-rating still.

Considering that these Stage 1 & 2 mention nothing about CAI/header, add those gains to what GM's uprades will give us and we are up to another 20hp or so (or I believe) if we add those mods as well.

Considering they said "The packages can be readily installed by the owner", they arn't ment to be huge upgrades. Look at what they're offering - Smaller pullies etc. It's fine for what it is and obviously more upgrades are on the way. Quit jumping to conclusions; at least they're starting to make the effort.

Ok, well first off you knew that the Cobalt SS had 25 less hp than the SRT-4. With enough money you can make your car as fast as you want.

Also...

We have a boosted coupe. The srt-4 is a boosted sedan.

it wouldn't be completely impossible that they were the same injectors in the cobra, but doubtful. remember many auto companies outsource things like the injection system to experts in the field, like bosch. very likely they could have had a hand in both.

I think anyone saying these are crap without seeing prices is a pretty bad idea.

If stage 1 (injectors and cal) is only $300, that's an amazing value. People spend $250 on an intake that gets you pretty much zip! If stage 2 is up around $6-800, that's still the same performance per dollar as the psi-fi kit.

Now if stage 1 is $700, that's not such a hot value anymore. I'm just sayin wait to see the prices first.

It's because they have to mantain the warrenty on the engine. Any more power means no more warrenty. If you want more power do the Phase 5 build

They don't have GM and Ford injectors, they have like bosch or company x injectors, they aren't specific to a GM or Ford, so if we had the same injectors as the mustang that wouldn't suprise me. I have never checked to see what type of injectors I have.

I am happy that we can install the kits ourself, hopefully they will have a handheld programmer and not make me go to the dealer for a reflash.
