Balance shaft delete

In stead of buying the kit, what keeps you from taking the shafts out and just cutting them down so there are just nubs behind the sprockets? I feel like that would be the same thing instead of buying a kit.

you need the sleeves to press in (with a 30mm socket) to block the oil passages to keep good oil pressure

you can drill through the side of the block and tap and plug the oil feed then plug the block

I have the remaining balance shafts in my garage so you can see a rough ideal how much has to be cut off. You might want the back half going back in the motor machined flat thou. Ill go grab them and snap a pic of what I cut off.

I'm still undecided on how much I want a machine shop to do with my block. It would be nice to have them assemble the whole short block but I think that is too much $$. And to have them fab up block off would probably be a lot more

They are rusty for they are old and I didn't take care of them for they can never be used anyways.

If you bought that kit. You would only need to press the bushing in your self it's actually not that hard. And as far as a machine work you would just need to take the sprocket of the balance shaft in and have them smooth the back where you made your cut. Unless you have access to a high tech table like band saw. Can't think of the technical name their called at the momment.

Got my deletes from mongo for 25 bucks. Block offs from level zero ran me 80. I think I picked up power at the wheel since there is less crap spinning as well.
