Best Aftermarket Clutch

What is the best aftermarket clutch? I've heard the hypersingle but I want durability cause it is my DD and I just need to make sure it is a reliable product and holds about 260-300 hp.

Also, Is there anything else that I need to be concerned about when replacing my clutch? Will my transmission and everything be fine?

check out the Exedy clutches. you won't need to go crazy expensive with your goals.

EDIT: Stage 2+ seems to be the most popular.

around here when i helped my friend call around for a clutch install on his integra the cheapest price we found was about $250 most people wanted $300 and i think that included resurfacing the fly wheel. Im not sure if prices will vary for different areas tho.

book time on a clutch job on any cobalt is 8.1 hours, that s what would normally be billed out at a reputable shop, weather it takes then 5 hours or 12 hours.

Centerforce DFX FTW, soft pedal with no slipping.

And 600 kind of seems like alot for a clutch job, a local shop did mine for 300 and that included the Royal Purple trans fluid too.

If you go with spec make sure it's the "+" series of them!

My money would go with Exedy myself!

the stage 2+ is more expensive than stage 3...why not just go stage 3?

I wonder what the gm label has for its install time. it would be pretty sweet if it could be bought and installed by a dealership for 1100 or less

So you replaced the clutch, but didn't replace the slave cylinder while you were doing it?

A stage 2 from exedy or ACT will be the best buy..plus not many brands have clutches for the ss/sc

It is the type of material that is used, 2+ will hold more than the stage 3

IMO SPEC "+" series are the only ones I would use, other than the Exedy hyper single...

Stage 3 Exedy and no problems so far. I have about 5K miles on it. Stiffer pedal feel and a little bit trickier to start on hills but not bad once it breaks in. We installed it in a day on jackstands. We have it down to 5-6 hrs to do one now. A dealer is going to mark up the part and charge more then a shop.
