If it weren't for me having an open diff car, I could pull better I think.

If I try to launch any harder, it's a one wheel peel down the entire 1/8. Sadly I think 1.8 will be my best 60' which means getting a high 11 is out of question.

still wondering about your axles situation tho. How do you keep from breaking them?

by using an actual tire and not a drag radial. soft sidewall tire will wrinkle under launch. keeping the shock of the launch from going up the axles and to the transmission. by the tire winkling you will also keep traction and not wheel hop

Good ****. Thanks for the info. Seems like common sense but this is probably something a lot of people dont think of. Makes sense tho.

What size wheel and slick would you guys suggest? I would like to not rub at all (even when turning) IF possible.

if you don't want to rub. a 24.5/8. but thats not too much traction. get coilovers and run a 26/10. i was doin some measuring the other day and with a 5mm spacer i could run a 28/10/15

Yea I'm not trying to go too crazy What can I get away with on the sportlines? Would switching to a bigger rim size (maybe 16") help or hurt?

how much money you have to throw into it? you could grind down the calipers a bit and run a 15" wheel which would allow you to run an actual slick. or you could stick with 16s and run an aggressive radial like a qtp or et street, or a regular drag radial like a 555r. 17s you could get the mickey thompson bike slick. but then you have really no side wall

I wouldn't call a QTP a radial, they are full bias ply. Just DOT approved, that's all.

I run a 26x9.5x16 Hoosier QTP slick, only time they rub is when they balloon out at high speed. I daily drive them on the Cobalt constantly, in fact they are on right now.

AWSOME! Thanks for the info guys. I was looking at these a while ago, and I know they will help with traction but will these absorb any shock to ease the load on the axles or trans?

I'm not a big fan of drag radials on a FWD application, prefer bias ply myself. They are nice if get caught in the rain or something, though.
