Best possible meth setup for my build...

Alright guys, first I would like to thank everyone that gave me great advice about my boost problem. I'm happy that's out of the way, my next step in this process is going to be, obviously, my extensive cooling mods... My car has 60's, a 2.6, 2 step ngk's, AEM cold air intake, larger tensioner pulley, stage 4 clutchmasters, pacesetter header, no cat, rear o2 sensor turned off, no resonator, HKS exhaust, and boost bypass mod.

My first question is what would be the best place to spray into? I was considering the spacer plate from ZZP, because i was going to go bigger on the throttle body anyways. I don't know if i wanna try and tap my intake. It seems so thin idk how well that would hold.

Second question being what would be the best stuff to mix and at what percentage for my car's specific needs. Should i go alcohol and water, meth and water, just washer fluid?
I just want someone that knows for sure to really give me some good starting points here.

My last question is at what point should i set it to start spraying. Any specific boost #? I'm at about 18 pounds now. Thanks a lot guys!

not sure with a 2.6, but on my 2.8 i just use washer fluid and am pulling 23* of timing with zero knock. i would just test out different mixes and see which works better. are you going to tune yourself?

straight meth and water is the only way. buy it from a speed shop or dragstrip and mix 50/50 or 70/30 depending on your overall goals for timing.

Yeah, I would love to run 25 degrees if at all possible. I'm having it tuned by PSI Motorsports. He was telling me we might just run straight alcohol and see how she handles it if not something like a 75/25 setup. He said he can tune it so the timing can be automatically taken out of it starts running hot. What size nozzle are you guys spraying? GPH or whatever... And did you just tap the intake pipe?

I am running a 300CC/min (~3.5GPH) nozzle at 150psi from the pump. I have an TB spacer for the meth and notrous nozzles

after i build the motor i plan on stepping up to a 6 GPH nozzle

With a 2.6 and 60's I'd say to go with a 5 or 7gph nozzle. I'm running the 5gph nozzle and with a 50/50 mix I am holding 22* with 0 knock and an 11.7-11.8 AFR. I'm going to be upping my meth content and going up to 25* of timing.

i don't know if you're going to be able to hold 25* with a 2.6. i've got a 2.8, 10gph nozzle with a 90/10 mix and i'm hitting 25 right now with it spraying at about 3psi. if i were you i would be more worried about the cooling effects of the injection and not so much the increase in engine timing

Yeah man Frank is the best. I was just down there Sat morning. He said he can set my car up so the timing can be automatically taken out if it starts to run hot. He wants to try it out on straight alcohol first...with the big h/e and dual pass we're gonna try that first. But he said he wants to set it up so my motor isn't completely relying on the meth. I'll probably get a few nozzels and just let him play. He's doing an STS turbo kit for my buddies trans am. That will be a nice build

What timing would you suggest?

well the computer automatically starts to retard timing at X amount of heat. i'm not sure what it is though, the only thing you can really do is adjust that temperature. i would start out with the exact same tune you have right now on the car. pick a psi for the methanol pump to kick on. and then start going up in timing from there, along with everthing else that needs adjusting

Thats exactly what I was planning on doing. He might pull a little fuel before we start because he has the a/f ratio and the timing from the initial tune but nothing big at all. What psi should i be spraying at? I was thinking about ten...It's already hard to get traction off the line as it is, so I don't want it to spray right away. And do you think straight alcohol will lower my temps enough?

its personal preference for when you want the pump to come on

The highest mix you should use is 90 meth 10 water... without the water the alcohol might not make it to the cyl. 75meth 25water might cool your temps a little more, so really, experiment with both and see how things differ...

If you spray too low of psi, it could make your hiccup... the best thing to do is "daily drive" for a few minutes.. and look to see the highest boost you make when ur just city driving... i normaly only made it to 7 or 8, so i would put my meth on 10 or 11... that way your not wasting meth if your just getting up to speed half throttle...
