best way to cool the engine

best way to cool the engine

hey guys so im trying to figure out the best way to cool my engine in the summer an so far im torn between.. distilled water an a bottle of waterwetter... or fill it up with all waterwetter.... but as i think about it more an more there is stuff for my bros dirtbike called engine ice http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/pr...odFamilyId=339
it says reduces enigne temps by 50 degrees... any opinons on this stuff??

well the antifreezes out there are also designed to have a higher heat carrying capacity than just plain old water...so running a regular 50/50 mixture should do you better...any other additives are up to you, but I have heard great things about waterwetter. And just running antifreeze or waterwetter may lead to your water pump going out prematurely due to the fact that it is not as thin/light as water...if that makes any sense, it has a little more strain put on it.

I wouldn't do either. Water wetter is an additive, not a coolant. By itself, it will not cool your car. Running all water is not a good idea, either. Coolant has additives that inhibit rust and lube the water pump. I wouldn't stray too far from a 50/50 mix... maybe a little more water/less coolant. I've used water wetter in my V8 S10 and honestly didn't notice any difference in temp at all.

I gotta have some! The color of the stuff in the overflow bottle will match my paint!
