Blew a hole in the flex pipe
Blew a hole in the flex pipe
Would this be covered under a powertrain warranty? I don't think so, because it is the exhaust, but I have another warranty with a $100 deductible that covers the exhaust. I'm just wondering what kind of aftermarket options are out there. Maybe I'll spend a little extra money and get something better to prevent it from happening again.
The car only has 50k on it, but i have brought it to 6500 at least 25 times a day for the past 6 months that I have had the car. Also, I hardly ever lift the gas pedal on WOT shifts. Completely stock. What would have caused this? Me reaming on it too much? - Yes. Can I help it? - No.

Not covered under warranty, and I need the car by this weekend for a 400 mile trip. What do I do?
I live in the Detroit Metro area
Anyone around with a stock downpipe, or any vendors around the detroit area that have any aftermaket ones in stock??? THANKS!!

the reason i keep it stock is so it doesn't blow up, and it can take one hell of a beating. mod it and there is no way it will last even close to as long, especially with FI. i do plan on doing some suspension mods though, and also engine and trans mounts. only things to increase reliability and handling, nothing to add power.
you dont need a fast car to have fun. the most enjoyable part of driving is being able to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your car. most enthusiasts wouldnt even know how to do that in a stock cobalt LT.

i got mine covered under warranty at 55K miles, along with a new exhaust manifold, I called GM and told their reps that "I regret buying this piece of American ****, your product is beyond shitty.... so on and so on...."next day the shop called and said that it was fixed free and clear. so call gm and bug them.
i jsut got mine warrantied.
this happened to me and if ur not over 60k it is covered, the flex pipe through the cat is one piece, if you take it to the dealer the catalytic converter is covered and since its one piece they will have to replace the whole thing, dealer covered for me at 52000 miles!
Meh, if he's on stock exhaust it wouldnt be bad... And well it will free up some restriction in the stock exhaust system... Plus its 60$ cheaper than catted, and he MAY gain a few horsepower from catless. I bought one when my flexpipe cracked and i couldnt be happier. I'm no expert but to me the pro's outweighed the cons. IMHO. but who am i...
