Brake Pads

Okay so my brake pads are starting to squeal and I've been looking at some brake rotors and pads to upgrade. I was wondering if anyone knows who makes the ss/tc pads and if so do they make them for a ss/sc? Or what's a good brake pad to use. Stopping power is my main concern here. Dont' care about brake dust either. I was lookin at the HAWK HPS pads but was curious about any others

the hps are more for track use and can stand up to alot of abuse but require more of a "heating" up phase to bite. Great pads either way.

HPS is NOT a track pad. It doesnt need more heating up, they are pretty much up to full temp halfway through ONE good stop, you can actually feel the difference, theres no reason to get them "hot". And they wont last long on a true "track day"

Ive got HPS right now and am happy with them.

The SS/TC pads are Ferodo HP1000, a very badass pad. They arent made for Ferrari, but Ferrari, Maserati and Audi all use this pad as well. lets you know how serious Chevy was about brakes on the TC

Stck pads avery good, if you wnat better reach out to CARBOTECH and tell the you application and they will recommend pads for you. HAWK pads are not very Rotor Friendly. I will only use Carbotech in my Audi and Vette. Again Stocks are very good.

HPS pads are very rotor friendly, and quieter than stock. HP+ are still real good with rotors but make more noise than stock, still less than a set of XP8's, they also cost less.

I had 1521's and didnt like them, they were very "squishy". Worse pedal feel than stock and only marginally better braking. The AX6 is roughly comparable to the HPS, but I think HPS hold up better under aggressive drivers or bigger cars. XP8s are really quite good, about the same as HP+ but need to get hotter so they arent as good for the daily driver.(they will last longer during track use though) I dont think many people would be happy with AX6s or higher because of the dust/noise as compared to HPS,(same reason I dont think anyone daily drives with HP+ here either) and of course there is no question that Carbotechs are more expensive.

Theres a few folks here who have some serious pads installed, none of them that I know of daily drive, and from the things i hear from the daily drivers probably less than 1% of them would willing to deal with anything more aggressive than EBC Red, Hawk HPS, Carbotech 1521, etc.
