Break In Stage

Ok, soo idk how or why, but my engine had some major problems and it crapped out and im getting a new one. Since my car is tuned for stage 2 and all my mods, i planned on just having mechanic swap over all my mods like stage 2 injectors and pulley. Will this effect the break in period and will it be bad for the engine?

I think if you don't know why you old engine crapped the bed, then there is chance that you could do the same damage to the new, adding insult to injury.

I'd want to know how and why so I didn't do it again. Otherwise pick any of the break in procedures you agree with.

I prefer "drive it out of the box the way your going to drive it any other day." My car is a track only car so it goes to work out of the trailer.

What happened to your first engine? did the tune cause it? You just have basic mods so no worry there besides the tune. Just take it east for the first 500 miles varying throttle response.

Me personally I had to go on a 7 hr trip the day I got the brand new balt. Drove it 50 miles in town showing people it then hit the road. I varied the throttle and gear every 20-50 miles for a few mins and at 5.5 hrs I got it up to 120 and my dad commented how smooth it was. Now a days engines are so well made that engine break in is ALMOST a moot point and I would sway more towards proper lubrication and engine temp.
