OP if you buy them in a junkyard understand the calipers wont center on your knuckle and the caliper bolts will hit your rotors just two things that can happen. Oh and your LSJ brake lines are too short, will stretch and break if you dont change them
CED take care of all the little details

This is only half right. They do not stop better if at all than stock LSJ brakes. What is better is the repeated use, i.e. at a track where you do quite a bit of braking. They will not fade like the stock LSJ brakes will after a couple laps.

Like the other guys said, get them from Tom at Crate Engine Depot

Brembo Brake Upgrade Kit for LSJ's BBUK

They come with everything you need to run them. However, if you are still on the stock ss/sc wheels, you WILL need a spacer. Don't forget that! It's important haha

Scooped up a set of EV5's in Bronze and about to order the Stance GR+(i love tax season)... waiting to get back home and gonna put the balt in the body shop and install the coilovers when they come in and go cruzin... the brembos are mainly for looks but even a little better stopping power/break pad life is still an improvement
Thanx for the help ALL

ZZP is working on a brake kit(s) for the Cobalt. As with everything, we take our time so please don't email and ask if you can get one.

The kit is based on a powdercoated twin piston aluminum caliper and our cross drilled/slotted rotors.

The calipers are not as nice as the Brembo's, just going to be honest. They are good but it's hard to top Brembo. The advantage our kit has is that it's lower cost, comes with better rotors, and easier to install.

Here's my question. We plan on going with a red caliper. Is that the best idea?

2nd question. We can do whatever rotor size we want. We will probably do 2 kits, one with 12.5" rotors and possibly something larger (stock cobalt is 10.9"). Suggestions? Big rotors look amazing but when is 'big' too big? I notice on some platforms the brakes are nearly as large as the wheels. lol

^^^^^This....is Sex....

ZZP: Would your Kit also fit the IRL? Maybe a separate install kit?

I would have color options IMO. Like the SSBC kits. Powder coated.

Rotors, 2 sizes would be nice as long as one fits a 17" wheel. (IRL option)

Just thinking aloud.

If yall could beat the CED price for a nice Brembo type setup, Id be on top of it! I wish somebody would sell a LNF rear swap kit too....

That would look great on a Cobalt.... but like 05vue-redline-06ion said what about the people running 17's, or even aftermarket rims??

Awesome, do you have an estimated time frame they will be avaliable?? 1 month, 2 months, summer??

Red is a good standard color, i would rock it (maybe black as well?)

The big rotors look great imo, nice and beefy and probably help with performance as well.

I suggested 2 kits because it's easy to do a 12.5", rotor is available and it will fit on 17" wheels. Cost for complete kit will be under $500.

Up from there, maybe a 14" kit? depends on what would fit under a common wheel package.

There will only be one or maybe 2 colors. No options for custom because we can't keep costs down doing one off projects.

First step is concept, next step is test fitting prototype parts.
Next step is building a piece for making a die.

This is where we are. Next we'll receive a sample casting (maybe 3 weeks). Then if we approve, production and shipping here. Then machining in house. During this phase we'll finalize option 2 size and have a rotor designed and cast..
Then road testing final part and making instructions. Releasing 12.5" kit while waiting on 14?" rotors to be made.

Normal development time for ZZP products is 1-2 years. Most people just don't know that because stuff is going on behind the scenes.

We could do a rear kit too. What are people doing for that currently?

i'd be in on this. would LOVE a rear option as well, especially with a larger rotor to fill the wheel (so long as we can bolt the caliper on the stock assembly, if that's possible). one question i have is would the rotors be coated? the rotors i put on my car last year rusted like CRAZY within like two weeks, and after this winter will be completely caked with rust.

and red calipers would be great.

As far as rear rotors go, Ive read that the LNF(I believe) has vented rear discs as opposed to the solid that is on the SS and IRL and will bolt on

I would love to swap out my solids for vented esp if i join the SCCA and start auto-xing....

but larger is better....

The stock brakes on my IRL are solid to me but i still wanna stop on a dime!

And a Brake swap weather it be Brembos or ZZP's is almost the last thing I have to do to my car.....besides a TVS and full E85....

Under $500 for a complete kit? Just wow, i'll be in! Oh and make the rotors as big as can fit in the 18'' wheel.
