Bullet Proofing an LSJ
Bullet Proofing an LSJ
Does anyone have a general ballpark estimate of what it would cost to bulletproof a 2.0 LSJ engine?
I have about 112,000 miles on the clock. Have had issues burning up O2 sensors. I want the car to last for as long as I do (lol). Just curious how much it would cost to have a motor like this run for another 200,000 miles without a hiccup.
As far as I can tell, its in decent shape. I change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles, plugs/coolant, all of that is kept up on.

They'll last a long time so long as they're treated well, kept at reasonable power levels, and maintained properly.
If you're burning up O2 sensors (I'm guessing the front sensor), you're either need to stop buying the cheap ones or look at your catalytic converter. These cars ran rich from the factory and have been known to clog cats.

While you're getting the cat checked do a leak down and compression test to verify the engine is healthy.
USMC do the PCV valves go bad on the LSJ often? I know the LNF has the issue with them failing frequently

Not really. The only one the LSJ's have is the intake manifold one. The valve covers are just open ports. There are plastic baffles inside the valve cover that can melt when powdercoating, but that's about it.
