Cadillac Throttle Body

I remember someone was trying to use a throttle body from an Escalade? Has anyone got any updates from this guy, his thread has been dormant for a while.

What gains do you plan to make here. Basically, you are Forced Induction, The flow will not change. (Non Measurable or Inconsequential)

We used a larger GM throttle body. Can't remember what one, but it leaned the engine out a little bit. Only problem is that the throttle body opening and the opening on the charger are different sizes. So you have to trace the chargers opening and grind out some of the intake. In the end its not really worth it.

As well arnt different MAF's programmed for different cars and as such will muck about with the PCM..
we used to have this issue with our Foci and ussing Mustang MAF's. i could be wrong thouggh it has been a long time.

^^ Yes, Switching out the Mass Air would only serve one "Good" function... It would be something to put in your signature, and one more reason that GM would not fix your car if it broke.

How is it not worth it? We saw a .8 A/F change toward lean indicating a lot more air is flowing now. for 125ish and some time witha dremel i think its worth it

im gonna have to agree here if your seeing an indication towards lean after swapping throttle bodies, then it would be reasonable to assume a much larger air flow. lets put it this way if you put the s/c on a flow bench with a larger throttle body in the WOT position. you guys are trying to tell me you would see the same air flow? as with a smaller throttle body? if you increase the size of the inlet and outlet of any object regardless of what it is you can generate higher volume at lower pressures. i can see how this throttle body along with a ported blower would allow us to run our tiny lil blowers in a far more effecient way, if we facilitate a higher volume of air we can run lower boost meaning less heat and more power. all at a safer temp and boost range

The reason i ask is...
1) We are working on a 3.5" intake with an ls1 maf
2) the eaton will be gone soon enough

As for not getting any gains with a larger thottle body because were FI, tell the GTP guys that. They have noticed wonderful gains with a larger throttle body including increased boost readings.

So it was done? How hard was it? Was it an escalade throttle body? Can you pm the materials required and any problems you ran into.
