I have a 06 ss/sc. We all know the air filter is down in the fender area in front of the tire. Well if the intake piping is shortened up to stop where it makes the final bend down under the body will that mess with the engine and performance to much? Pretty much asking if this is something anybody should NOT do?? thanks

It probaly would, why wouldn't you just leave the intake the way it's made?

I was just wondering. cuz if you want to get to the filter u have to take stuff apart to reach it. just quicker access. its no biggie. just curious.

You'll suck warmer air with it in the engine bay. You'll also have to relocate the MAF sensor. Don't go that route, you'll lose power and it'll be a bitch to set-up.

This.
The engineers who designed the intake calibrated the maf to read air moving a certain volume and velocity. Unless you can compensate you'll lose power and be a very sad panda.
