Does an after market CAI void the warranty? j/w since gm put out there own. if not could i buy one and have them install it? thanks.

this is like the 15th thread i've seen on this...and from what i hear/think as long as its a dry filtered CAI it wont void the warranty as an oil coated filter will void the warranty on some congestion issues :-(

yes, it totally voids the warrenty... anything you put on that didn't come stock totally voids the warrenty... sorry bro...

If your worried about your warranty that much, i wouldnt bother moding the car, or take my car to gm and let them touch it.

i looked on the sticky but didnt see anyting so thats why i asked. arent all filters covered with oil and thats how they trap the dirt?

There are also a million threads out there that will tell you that a CAI will NOT void your warranty unless they can prove that the reason behind the malfunction or problem is the CAI that you installed.
