the injen itake is good just the filter is oily so in order to keep the maf oil free thats why I say go with the AEM dry filter. So far as warranty, I've never heard of a cai voiding warranty uless they can prove it caused a problem. There are several post on here that state the laws on moddifications and grounds for voiding warranties, or you can go to your dealer, or gm.com to find out info

i got the K&N typhoon, its wicked. easy install, looks sweet. ive heard bad things about the injen, i wouldnt reccommend getting it. there is a thread on here about how it doenst fit right and it wears through really fast. if one CAI voids warranty then they all do. its not like they are different that much. it only voids if they can prove that was the cause of the problem. get the K&N you wont regret it.

K&N is cool but make sure you change the filter. That filter is too oily

K a few points as usual

1) Please search, the number of threads asking the EXACT same question are probably in the hundreds by now.

2) A cold air intake is any intake that is routed away from engine heat. So technically the SS/SC already comes with a CAI.

3) Don't expect significant gains from the CAI. You'll notice a significantly louder supercharger whine and a slight throttle response increase, but you will probably net 5whp or less. Most of that will be from the filter that comes with it.

4) In all honesty, just do the airbox mod or just put in a hi-flow filter. The 230+ bucks you pay for a cold air intake would be better spent on exhaust, torque dampeners, transmission mounts, stage kits, etc etc etc.

I would know because i have had a gazillion different intake setups and a 50$ K&N filter pulls just as hard as a 230$ Injen CAI.

Injen hasnt done me wrong yet. I do plan on switching to the AEM dry flow at my next oil change though...
I also have driven through rain where I thought I was going to see Noah, and theres no hydrolock here. I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky though. You have to be careful with them. No deep water.
