Hey i hear you had a run in w/an srt-4 in the area..i love eatin them things up...next time you go out to play let me know so i can get some practice on my street set-up...also i have a friend that has software to tune your car w/2.80 pulley and cai...we need to change your plugs ...also wanna try inj meter swap....should be able to get 300fwhp out of that thing....hell you remember what we pulled out of my gti 1.8t...when we get done w/your car you should assrape those too! I have a dry n20 kit that i am not using.we should spray your car w/35 shot .it will give you about 60hp and 75ftlbs tq alone combined w/the blower..it will cool the intake charge also ...and thats a small safe shot...we can spray pre MAF...and the cpu should be able to adjust enough w/that small shot!!! talk to you later....

thats awesome man, an 03 Cobra guy helping a Cobalt guy. I wish more people were like this.

I drive a stang too, but its "Just a GT", hehe. Having a Novi 2000 Mongoose kit installed in a few months, gonna make around 380-400 on the stock short block. then Im saving for a built 302 stroker short-block, stage 2 heads and cams and upping the boost on the Novi. will make over 600 at the wheels.

Hey listen guys as far as i am concerned ..regarless of what we all drive we all have one common goal... make our cars the best we can and perform the best we can...black05ss is a friend of mine for a long time actually 11year beetween us ...i am 31 ...family friends...i have had my share of good runing cars from N/A to supercharged to turbo....and 1 thing i remember is we all have to start somewhere with performance cars....so i try to help when ever i can ....but let me tell you cobalt guys somthing...your all spoiled in a good way...i never had it as easy as you guys to make power like you do ...with a pulley and a tune CAI you guys will all have sick little 4 bangers....i dont know if you all realize that the power you guys put down is quite impressive....i see guys still dyno bolt on 5.0- 88-94 mustangs and they make about 218-225rwhp and 268-290lbs tq....those cobalts are actually making the same if not more power than some cars with twice the displacment...cobalt ss are lot of fun....i drove my friends and was very impressed......lets say he ran 20mph roll w/me in my g35 dead heat run till 110...and i let out...my G ran a respectable 14.16 99.8mph on a 2.160ft ...once the software becomes readily available to tune these cars for variable set-ups the aftermarket for you will boom....if i can help anyone with info i will ...and dont kid your selfs just because i drive a mustang..does not mean i dont love chevys....i owned many camaros and vettes...in fact i HAVE A 2006 Z06 on order and it should be in by mid march!!! i am thinking of getting one of the cobalt ss for a daily driver and to mod the **** out of it ..i would love to have 2litre american car that can spank a variety of imports....well good luck to all you cobalt owners and would like to say its in my opinion the best over all value car for the dollar....well built ..tight handleing and fast...impressed how they really start pulling up top 2nd gear and they dont quit!!!!

now this guy is a class act here....respect goes both ways i'm friends with doug from BF and i know he does alot of parts for the terminater stags....amazeing car....good point on being able to pre-spray the MAF as well.

I am not sure what tuning software is out for you guys if any yet ...but i think i would try EFI SOLUTIONS ....or maybe SCT...its really got me scratchin my head how these companys are making pulley for the eaton and not giving a least a power programer to change the tables for air fuel and timing....if the tuning comes out you guys wont need to worry about gm making stage 1 or stage 2 kits ..you can make your own....there is no reason that these cars should not respond to mods ..similar to they way cobras03-04 responded.....pulley 125 dollars...tune 350 dollars..cold air 200.dollars exhaust 350-700.dollars 1200-2000 dollars you guys should be able pick up 25-40 percent....these cars without question should be able to put down 255-285fwhp reliably w/safe tune...THIS IS THE ONLY REASON I REALLY DIDNT BUY ONE YET >>>>I CANT WAIT FOR TIS CARS AFTER MARKET TO SOARE...but when it does its gonna be SILLY!!!

you are absolutely right. there are a LOT of guys with 5.0s and 4.6 GT's that work hard to make money and invest it in there cars, i mean invest a LOT and dont make over 300rwhp. i think the 5.0 is a lot easier to reach that mark with H/C/I, which can be had for about $2000. the 2V mod motors on the other hand......parts are more expensive and not as abundant (H/C/I anyway). I know a guy whos put over 5k into his car and has just 300rwhp. granted some of that was suspension and cosmetic, but a rather large chunk was performance mods. on the other hand, he does run a 12.79 @ 108 with "just " 300rwhp.

dont take for granted that your cars dont need as much investing to make power, cuz there are a lot of guys out there, not just mustangs, busting their asses and emptying their wallets to make power.

Welcome to the site. Glad to see someone that can see the potential that we have seen.

The problems we have heard of so far are unfortunatly trannies, and axles breaking with the higher power. Hopefully that will be addressed with the aftermarket.

I know ..i had 04 mach1 CAI full exhaust and cpu tuning it made 304rwhp 312ftlbs 13.12 @106mph probably could have cliped 12.80-12.90s with a good tire and 60ft times....i hear you ..i am really thankfull for my eaton cobra ..its really been easy and cheap considering the gains to this point ...EXAMPLE my cobra stock pulley and tune on bfgs w/cold air kit /cat back exhaust...12.6s 111-113mph avg driving...then 2.80 pulley mid pipe no cats ..tune and IRS BRACE...short throw shifter...11.547 121mph on et streets great driving good traction cost 100$ for pulley 550 fortune 350 for mid pipe ..car dynoed at that time 471rwhp 507tq w/22deegrees timing and safe tune 11.6-11.9AF RATIO have not run the car w/new mods yet http://media.putfile.com/n20runs

For the tune, I've been hearing for a couple months now that Diablo Sport is planning on tackling this ECU whenver they were done with the new vette tune and something else that was in front of the Cobalt/RL's, priority wise. My roomie was the test & tune car for their SVT Focus tune, and I've been trying to get Yohan (I think that's how ya spell it?) to start on this car for over a year now. I told him the potential it would have if he were the first one out with some sort of programmer, but he had his priorities already and I couldn't change them (even though he COULD have had the tunes done by the time the majority of SS/SC's started hitting the roads, and even before the C6 was out). Hopefully they start soon, because I don't know of any other company that's even thinking about tackling our ECU's.

he never comes out I've asked him to but he never shows. Anyway all he needs is a pully and some 16's to rape stock srt-4's dig or rolls(yeah i said it). I know i do. What ever though I hang out with the big group of srt-4 owners over there on Dpa and there not bad people. The guy Patny he had beef with doesn't even really roll with them he comes by evey once in a while. Pat Really runs with the 1.8t guys so don't be mad at the srt-4 guys.

it doesnt make sense ..this car is not only the best thing in its class to come out in a while but its got **** LOADS OF POTENTIAL>>come on every one is sick of hondas and VW already!! besides this car not only has HP ..it has what everyone has been wanting in a 4cyl it has TORQUE!!!! I am going to speak to some people I know this week ...some tuner shops ..and see if i cant get someone to take on the task of coming up w/a tune ....I hope my pal black05ss will not mind being the test bed for this ..i will even pay whatever it cost as long as he will use his car ...i know he is just going in to college 2nd year so if he is interested i will pay for some of his mods ...like pulley tune CAI just for the sake of getting the ball rolling ....maybe someone can call steigemeyer and see if they will do the blower porting..that is who us cobra guys use and he also does m90s m112s ..he is an eaton specialist...porting the blower for efficiantcy should be worth 20-25-horse on these things ....if for talk sake you port blower ..put 2.80 pulley ..a header and cat back ..cold air kit .. tune ..say 30-42lbs injector ..a little bigger maf meter ..this car could put down 290-325 fwhp...not to mention head porting or cams even.....then think spray it w/a 35 shot of N20 you then have 385-400fwhp...NO BS ..ITS BEEN DONE W/1.8Ts...and this is a bigger displacment engine...hell i am getting excited thinkin about all the endless possibilitys of this little BITCH!!! . Quite a few things you've talked about are in the process. On of the guys on the RL forums happened to purchase a spare motor off of a guy who was parting out his wrecked (rear end) RL. This includes looking into porting by steigemeyer, which was also looked inito a couple months ago by another member. I believe with that spare engine he can send out any part to any company that would be interested in making that part better in our engines. I'm not sure exactly what he has planned, but his name is Sinister Redlines on www . redlineforums . com (no spaces obviously). Talk to him, and see if you guys might be able to help each other out.

another thing is axles ....the driveshaft shop is who made my custom halfshafts...they can make them for anycar....callthem and send them your old ones as cores.and they will send them back as stage 1 ,2 ,5 depending what your looking for

yo terminater jus got my new credit card with a 3g limit. mama dukes was bugging out you know. hoping to do sum little stuff with that. CAI and what not. Darksun as for DPA dont wanna run around down there for fear of getting a ticket. ive been pulled ova quite a bit i kno i get off but still its a hassle then they have to call my godfather and bitch to him.

Thats cool i feel you man but I met another kid who just got a black cobalt he's been rolling out to the srt-4 meets with me. I just meet another kid with a yellow one who's gonna stop by to. You should come out once in a while it'd be fun.

For the Street tuner challenge car, GM used the Grand Am halfshafts because they were stronger, and allowed for different wheel configurations. They just redrilled the rotors to match the new bolt pattern on the axles.

Listen .you cobalt guys should get together w/others like srt-4 guys and start a local cruise each week ..keep it organized ..and start events like we do in the mustang club ...we do track rentals .like 10 cars 120 bucks a piece pays for us to rent the race track for like 6 hours ..and that way its safe and off the street...ALSO ..for example you guys could call the club here on Long ISLAND LIDSCOA Long Island Domestic Sport Compact Owners Association ...also dont meet up in groups and do stupid **** like burn outs and bouncing the engine off the revlimiter .purge contests donuts in reverse ..THAT IS THE STUFF THAT IS MAKING THE COPS HERE GO BERZERK ON EVERYONE!!!AND BESIDES IT RUINS A GOOD HANG OUT SPOT!!! RESPECT EACH OTHER AND THE PROPERTY YOU HANG OUT ON AND YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS W/THE LAW!!!
