Camshaft/Head Availability Update

Just wanted to let you all know about performance parts availability. The performance ground intake and exhaust cams from GMPP are now available separately from any GMPP dealer:

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P1903C141.aspx

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P1904C141.aspx

Both Intake and Exhaust blanks are still available as well. Keep in mind the Intake cams are direct fit for the LSJ, but the exhaust require a bit of work to be made to work.

The GM Racing exhaust ported LSJ head (sandcast) is now available directly from GM Racing:

The exhaust ported LSJ head is available, in very limited quantity, only direct through GM Racing. The part number is XGH734 and the price is $1200, plus shipping. We calculate shipping based on your zip code, so I would need that before giving you a total price. GM Racing requires prepayment via CERTIFIED check or money order.

Hope this helps,
GM Racing

According to GM:

The LE5 intake cam is the most aggresive from the factory. Furthermore, the LNF exhaust cam will swap into a LE5. Thus, you're stuck with the stock intake cam, but it's the best OEM cam out there for an ecotec, and you'll be getting more support on the exhaust side as the Cobalt Turbo hits the streets.

I kinda like the idea of a stock LE5 intake cam with an LNF exhaust cam on a turboed LE5. Its not a bad setup imo.

Problem is availability. For the price "new" I don't feel its worth it and you can't exactly find too many LNFs in yards right now.

Yeah, I agree. But, at the rate people have been wrecking everything else, there should be some in yards soon
